    You do know that Dilfer and the other Elite 11 coaches factored in aspects such as in the classroom that the analysts from the various sites did not have access to for their evaluations. Those other components are very important to being an effective QB on the field and leader on & off..

  • With Dobbs and Jennings both like getting the bump to 4 star, that's 3 QBs roughly 15-20 minutes from my residence that have a 4 star rating (Eddie Printz Jr is the 3rd guy) and add-on Bama QB commit Parker McLeod.......the ATL Metro is simply loaded with talent.

    Seems to me that guys playing in this area and putting up great numbers should be graded to some extent based on their level of competition.

    I'm aware, but you do also know that Trent Dilfer has a vested interest in making sure certain QBs end up in the actual E11, right?

    Of course classroom time is important, but frankly, results on the field are what matters at the end of the day. I probably have a better football IQ than most D1 players, but in the end, they can play the game and I probably couldn't have walked on at any D1 school. Unless Shane was pretty much sleeping through every second of classroom time, I find it a little hard to believe that classroom evaluations would really knock out a guy who not only demonstrated the strongest arm in camp, but also won an accuracy award, on top of consistently outperforming most (if not all) of the others in 7-on-7s.

    As for Dilfer, if a player like Cockerille doesn't make the E11, Dilfer looks bad for the special addition to the original 24. Dilfer is far from impartial.

  • It is all good on the differences with the lists. That being said, the list produced by the event is based strictly on how a kid does that week. They aren't factoring in anything in pads, film, anything. It is a simulation. Certainly is worthwhile- we saw things from Dobbs and Jennings and Woulard that will allow them to rise. But it rarely reflects the best prospects in the country.
