Best way to prepare for your first prostate exam?

So I've finally reached the age that I have to drop trou and get this done. Those of you who have already had to do it, got any tips? Anything to make the experience a little less miserable? Will the doc still do the exam if I show up hammered?

I have not had one yet but I watched a movie once where a guy was about to go to prison so he had his wife use a strapon so he would get used to it.lol Seriously though it is more embarrassing than anything, had one 2 years ago. My guess is that most doctors hate it almost as bad as you do. Almost!
