The point of my original post in this thread was a response to someone saying that the UM/O$U can get back to the 2006 level. I brought up the divisions and the tiebreakers to demonstrate that the game has lost it's relevance (not importance to the respective fan bases of those two schools) as far as determining the league champion. You are correct that the outcome of that game will rarely come into play as possibly the fourth tiebreaker in the event of a three-way tie atop a division. The fact that B1G teams don't play a round-robin schedule makes it even more remote that the outcome of that game will have any impact on who wins the conference. That is precisely the point. In the grand scheme of things, it is now much more important for UM to beat Iowa, or O$U to beat Illinois than it is to win or lose the O$U/UM game.
Considering that MSU didn't play Ohio this year, and the fact that Ohio is a member of the MAC conference and not the B1G, MSU's win over Minny is definitely more important and always would be. If you are being a Hoax-A-Mania minion and unthinkingly omitting the last part of Ohio STATE in your reference, than I would still agree with you. While it was nice to get a win in Columbus on a day when MSU's offense was out of synch, a win over any intra-division opponent will always be more important to than a win over any inter-division foe.

One implies that Buckeye players received improper benefits, a result of which the football team is currently on probation. The other...well, makes absolutely zero sense.
Enlighten me as to why Hoax and the rest of the Walverines think it is so disrespectful to not call them by their name. Is it supposed to be a retort to the whole "that team up north" thing, or is it just too dang hard for the Walverine nation to remember two whole words in sequence?.

No one cares why you use O$U (or for that matter any if the other immature terms that you do). He was merely pointing out the irony and hypocrisy of you criticizing others for their failure to use full and proper legal names. The point obviously went over your head.
