Sounds like the Big Ten will go to 9 conference games now.

Why? What a dumb attitude to have. Every conference should have 9 conference games, A title game, 1 hard OOC game, and 2 cupcakes for the money.

It's unfortunate, but I can see where the P12 is coming from. A 9 game conference schedule makes it hard to add a B10 team every year. It leaves those teams with few options. Still, I don't want the B10 to go to 9 conference games. It kills the ability to play quality OOC opponents. I would rather see the B10 try to cut a deal with the ACC, SEC or B12 similar to the P12 deal that was just canceled. Interestingly, the B10 and SEC are the only two major conferences left that play 8 conference games. Why not hook up and have a B10-SEC challenge every year? It would be great for CFB and for every game against Alabama, LSU or Florida you also get one against Kentucky, Mississippi or Vanderbilt.

It doesn't kill the ability, to play a quality OOC game. Nut up. I hope we do go to 9 conference games.

In addition to the 9 conference games, USC and Stanford have Notre Dame every year. Utah has BYU every year except 2014 and 2015. The only way to make it work would be 8 conference games. The Pac will be at a competitive disadvantage when the playoffs start because every other top conference plays 8

Nut up? Really? Have you seen Nebraska's OOC schedule the past few years? It would make Brett Bielema proud.

Nebraska wanted to back out of our series in 06 & 07, but USC held them to the agreement...

Comes down to economics. With 9 conference games you have to have some flexibility in your OOC scheduling because most football budgets are built on seven home games a year.

Then I would suggest you qualify your statement to "nut up"...which USC has built a long standing tradition of doing...continuing through numerous ADs and coaching staffs...
