Big 10 can't make up it's mind

How do they want to determine the National Champ? As of today they prefer the status quo, followed by a plus 1, and their third choice would be a 4 team playoff.

This is all part of Delany's grand plan. If the B10 keeps changing its position, the SEC will not know which one to whine about.

The B10 has gotten two teams into BCS bowls more than any other conference. Why wouldn't we favor the current system? A four-team playoff in which the B10 might be left out entirely is not much of an improvement, especially if the playoff games are all going to be held in Florida, New Orleans and Southern California. We might as well keep the current system and protect our exclusive tie-in with the Rose Bowl.

You have it backwards. Delany has never been one of the people pushing a playoff. He has been one of the people resisting a playoff. It's not his job to come up with a plan that makes everyone happy. It's the job of whoever wants a playoff to happen. And last time I checked, no conference other than maybe the B12 has agreed to the SEC's proposed plan. The ACC has come out against it. So have the P12 and B10. Even the B12 commissioner made a statement saying that winning your conference should matter and somehow be factored into the decision of which teams make a playoff. If the SEC has an idea for a playoff that it believes is better than the current system, it is the Mike Slive's job, not Jim Delany's, to sell that to everyone else.

We should just do BCS top 3 and the Big 10 Champ if they're bowl eligible. Solves the 2-3 debate, gives the #1 team a bit of a bye in round 1.

Personally, the more BCS bowls the Big 10 gets the merrier as far as I am concerned, because outside of maybe Ohio State they will usually lose these games, further proving how much the conference sucks. Ohio State will usually lose if they get matched up an SEC team
