The B12 doesn't even hold the cards in its own survival. If FSU, ND and Clemson turn the B12 down, the B12 will be left with Louisville and ???. Not exactly the same picture you get when you think of FSU and Clemson (or ND) signing up to be #s 11 and 12. The SEC, B12 and P12 have the future of CFB in their hands right now and the B12 is very, very lucky it just signed a bowl agreement that allows it to ride the SEC's coattails for the next five years. The B12 is along for the ride.

  • I think SEC and the B1G hold the cards right now. They could offer any of the ACC teams and they would jump in a heartbeat without even caring what the B12 said. P12 is a bit too far away to really pull anyone currently. They aren't going to pull much out of the B12 anymore and they couldn't go after a ACC school.

If FSU, Clemson, and ND "turn the B12 down" then the B12 is happy to stay at 10 members. The rights grants and the recent TV contract puts the B12 in a very secure spot that it could only have dreamed of two years ago when it was falling apart. Expansion is not necessary for survival, and it will only occur in the B12 for one of the big fish.

The cards are in the B12's hands because no one else is going to move first. And if it only gets back to 12, no one else is likely to move. Pac12, SEC, and B1G are masters of their domain, but the future of the ACC and especially the Big East lie in the Big 12's expansion plans (or lack thereof).

  • Big 12 is just a puppet being played by slive and Delaney. Slive already got two of his teams. That decision to do the big12/sec bowl game was a strategic move to criple the acc and get his other two teams.

Not to mention fsu Clemson would be sec if we offered.

  • Like I said the other day, TAMU is the new South Carolina and their fans will say "we" a trillion times to reiterate that they are members now.

B12 is going to add FSU, Clemson, ND and GT then it will be every bit as strong as the B1G and SEC. Pac 12 isn't deep enough and has no good expansion optionss

Top to bottom maybe as strong as the SEC. At the top it's still in the favor of SEC even if you add those teams.

South Carolina pulls their weight in baseball. We got schools for different things. Kentucky does it for basketball. Vandy does it for schooling. A&M will do it for money.

If FSU/ND/Clemson turn the B12 down and the B12's response is to stay at 10 teams, the ACC will emerge as the #4 power conference over time.

they have to approve expansions before anyone turns down. Half the conference is against expansion unless its ND and FSU.

Since ND is not really ready yet it might not happen at all whether they want to come or not

That's how it is currently top to bottom! I find it comical that the Big10 and pac 10 folk even think they are in the realm of what the SEC and big12 do on the field ..

Off the field, with the GOR that the Big12 has makes them the most stable of any of the conferences by the simple fact that it would be impossible to survive a move to another conference from any of its members

USMCAG and Status y'all are embarrassing spewing that sh!t , you support one of the biggest laughing stocks of a team there is in any league and are about to be the SEC jizz rag. You shouldn't even have a voice in any debate over anything college football.

How about qualifying that it's a lot, some, or most of the fans instead of all of them.

If I based my opinion of Florida State on you, I would assume you were all douches.

Your even dumber than I give you credit for if you think any of those Leagues rejected Texas in the last realignment. Just completely moronic.

    1. we didn't apply to any league
    2. Bebee's last minute deal saved anyone one from moving out of the conference (including you welchers)
    3. Its Texas there are prob 3 or 4 teams in the country that would produce the payout that texas does. I sure they would all pass

Good luck with that. Do you even think about how dysfunctional it is that the B12 needs a GOR to keep the teams from leaving? The B10 and SEC don't even have buyout provisions. Teams are beating the door down to get in not out.

The dysfunction came from the teams that left (minus colorado they were trying to be proactive and not get left behind) Nebraska a&m and to a lesser extent missery were the one with the problems
