Makes sense take the feedback from coaches, scouts, and educated sources whatever that means when your supposed to be the people evaluating the prospects. Ever cross your mind that people are bias towards other programs? ? Umm duh hes your stupid sign. Do your job and not take others people advice!

Also please review my percentage breakdown earlier in this thread of what we take into account. You obviously thought I was saying something I wasn't.

I must ask, what have these prospect done since the last update to warrant such big moves in the rankings? I mean Ty Isaac dropped from #28 all the way to #68, why did he drop? There haven't been any camps that other RB prospects have taken part in that have shown they are more impressive than him and his film is some of the best in the country overall.

Really? I find Isaac's flim particularly unimpressive. Upright style, lack of physicality, no quick-twitch ability. Personally, I think he's still overrated.

One more thing and I am out. I asked one of our guys to go and watch the video on Rivals just to make sure. Here's what he said about the drill/film/camp/etc...

Re: the posters in that thread questioning Liner beating Golson 1 on 1 at VTO, that doesn't show much that a DL beats an OT without pads and the option of 2 gaps without a guard inside. The construction of that drill was poor and if you watch the video the only time Liner really beats him is when he goes inside. Since when did a LT kickslide to their right with no guard there? The best way to do it is line everyone up and then go with the 1on1's down the line.

So why have camps that have this drill or one on one's with WRs/CBs?

I mean if they really show you nothing, why do them?

And on a sidenote, if they truly are meaningless, why was such a big deal made about Ryan Anderson manhandling Caleb Peterson, Michael Flint, and the rest of the non 4 star OL from AL last year in one on ones at the AL/MS All Star game. Y'all went crazy over that last year.

Funny coming from the guy who has been proven wrong multiple times just ITT and will start Bama hate threads at a hats drop.

Roark, you've proven us all wrong. I now believe that even the mentally handicapped can use computers and interact with others.

    Ok, ichabod.

Um, exactly this. But duck, because here come the sheep.

Why even do those drills in camps or have all-star games if great performances won't be rewarded consistently? I mean, if camps and all-star performances were a big factor, nobody in their right mind would consider Geno Smith, let alone Chris Black to be ranked ahead of Jaquay Williams. The kid simply cannot cover him, he can't press him and he can't use his body to keep JW from doing whatever he wanted against him.
Geno seemed to do fine against everybody else in those drills though.

The comment my guy made was specific to this particular drill and it's set up. There are different ways to do it.

I wasn't at AL-MS last year. Barton Simmons could probably explain why he said what he said. My feeling on Anderson was based on his senior film in an area that we all know produces great talent.

I personally don't ever go crazy over camp/combine performances unless it's something like The Opening where the OL/DL are in pads. It's a tool, but it's not the tool (of course, you are probably saying- JC- YOU ARE THE TOOL!!) for evaluations.

BTW- I know we don't agree, but I appreciate you coming over and chatting about it and also on Twitter (I think that's you on Twitter).

i applaud you for your efforts to attempt to reason with roark. nice try.

Bama players have been over rated the last 5 years in order to increase subscribers to recruiting websites....then the referees were involved to make sure bama would win 2 bcs titles in 3 years...and wouldn't you know...Now the nfl has mandated that teams pick bama players in the first round again and again...as to validate the high recruiting rankings from 2008 thru 2012. the nfl network and espn have been forced to send reporters to tuscaloosa to fill air space to talk about over rated former high school stars who lucked out in college...makes sense. clap

The REC controls the NFL... Roger Goodell is a mere pawn in the REC's plans for world domination...

  • I warned you way back JC lol. Don't fall into Roark's trap. He will keep coming no matter how many times you try and explain things to him. His life(Apparently quite sad for this reason) is to cause maximum turmoil on a message board.

It's a common misconception that we adjust rankings based solely on camps and combines.

I know 40 spots looks and feels like a lot, but it really isn't. Based on further review and continued comparisons to others at his position and overall we made the adjustment.

Like I mention in the article, it's like a draft board. Players go up and they go down. The final rankings are all that matters.

Exactly. These experts evaluated Zeke Pike as a 5-star in the first few batches of rankings last cycle, and the experts ended up ranking him a 3-star in the final ranking. These rankings literally don't mean anything. We will see how good these top 2 "supposed" franchise prospects play their senior seasons. Right now it just appears everyone is falling for the hype machine.

I'm with you on this one. Nowhere near as good as the hype he's getting. He, the QB Swoopes, and EJ Levenberry are the three most overrated prospects thus far (All sites combined at this time)

To me, Swoopes is an unpolished athlete playing QB. I understand the VInce Young comparison, but that's just silly at this point, and this level. It would be like comparing Zeke Pike to Tim Tebow. Takes more than just having similar builds and game to actually be as good as the original. This is a huge year for QB's and Swoopes isn't anywhere near as good as several in his own state, let alone nationally. JMO.

The talent over there hasn't been the issue anyways, but it's just getting better and better. Now, about the offense, umm...

Ok...please tell me you are joking. No quick-twitch ability? You haven't seen Ty Isaac if you say that...his agility is through roof...especially for a kid as big as that.

Isaac is 6'2 or 6'3 and can stop and start and make cuts like a 5'10 back. The kid is the #1 RB on USC and Michigan's board for a reason.
