  • Very good hire, IMO. Marrone will do a good job. He will likely draft Nassib in the mid-rounds if he is still available.

Agree, guy has coached and succeed at it at every level. As an Eagles fanI wouldn't have been upset if he went to Philly

Marrone had no business coaching Syracuse to a winning record the last few years, but he did. Good coach, from a good coaching tree.

  • Feel the same way, but a lot of people are saying good things. I'm liking it more and more the more I learn about it.

The last time I felt this way about a hire was when Michigan hired Hoke. Working out so far for me.

He turned Syracuse into a decent program after Greg Robinson got through with it (same Greg Robinson who coordinated Michigan's worst defense ever).

Russ Brandon and Doug Whaley are going to be good for us BLF, just give it time.

If Parcells, and Sean Payton like what the guy does, so do I.

  • I'm in wait and see mode. I know his resume, and I know both the positive and negative arguments about it.

I'll wait to judge him based on what he does as HC of Buffalo.

I certainly didn't expect any sort of splash. I'd say that outside of the good old coaches (Gruden, Cowher, etc.), there were really no splashy coaching hires. JMO. Lot of guys you could make arguments for, but almost zero consensus (as much of a consensus there can be) "splashy" hires.

    Very true.

That said, Ralph Wilson just recently took himself out of the decision making process, leaving things in the hands of Russ Brandon. Not sure what to expect. Brandon has been seemingly a part of the inner circle for a while, so things might just be another cheap continuation of the last 13 years. Then again, it might be different. Just have to see.

Bradham took over the starting job mid-season and looked pretty good. Had his ups and downs, but seemed like he could be a very solid starter at least. Hopefully we'll hire a DC who doesn't waste the talent we actually do have on defense.

Powell was good. Had some booming punts, sometimes outkicked the coverage, but overall did a better job than Moorman.

Sanders...pretty sure he was seen as more of a project. Could be why he was on IR. I think challenging for PT next year depends on if we draft a tackle, if we lose Levitre, etc. Just have to see. I wouldn't put money on it, but it's possible.

  • They continued their clueless approach to the NFL

    MarylandDawg

  • i think sanders can be a very serviceable RT, at the worst a backup tackle that can play both sides of the line or shift inside to guard in an emergency.

you guys got a good one in powell. we really missed him and his 48ypa this year
