I got you.
Blanding seems like a great kid, its a shame to see him going to play for a pee-wee team. It'll be interesting to see if he sticks with the committment when London is canned and Tom O'Brien takes over. Regardless...he'll never beat VT, but surely he already understood that.

If this was a situation with VT I would understand, but UVA is a burning dumpster fire of a program. A new coach can't come in and say he will turn it around. Then after three years go 16-19 (4-8 in the last season) with another 4-8 season likely next year.
UVA is showing how pathetic they are just holding on to him, if they had half a football brain they would have released London and hired O'brien as the head coach when they had the chance.
I think they have to clean house after another 3-9/4-8 season this year. I really think he might open up his recruitment again. But I don't really care Marshall is just as good IMO and we can find another playmaking safety who is a little bigger.

This might be right from the outside, but it's just not what is going on. I might be proved wrong, but our coach will be given enough time and he has provided major talent upgrade. We will not be particularly good in 2013, could be pretty decent in 2014 and if things go well could be upper tier ACC in 2015. I know that means nothing to you FSU guys, but if we can pump out 8-4, 9-3, maybe 10-2, attract VA talent (while offering great academics) we will have happy people all around

But this is all a crap shoot imo, and that is just stone cold facts
Clemson continues to recruit better, and FSU as well
Even when you out recruit VT you still can't beat them, and they will be better next year
Then you have a wild card in Miami, a program that if they escape the NCAA... well, UVA won't be competing with them either
So you be fighting UNC, NC State and teams like this for at best 4th place in the ACC and a maybe 2nd or 3rd in your division alone
And don't forget Louisville joins the party in 2014, good luck I guess... I don't see UVA leaping any of these programs cause of a few 5 stars

oh i agree..but our expectation isn't being number 1-3 in ACC consistently..if everything goes perfectly we win ACC, but going 8-4 like in 2011 is a good outcome. And we will continue to pull in the occasional 5-star who wants to stay close to home and wants the academics. We do have the facilities and resources to develop these guys into NFL player as we have proved with the Chris Long's of the world so they will continue to come to us here and there. 2014 sets up nicely for us too with all the talent in VA so we could be looking at a few good years if things go well, but I don't think we will say that we would be like FSU every year and have a shot at the national championship game, we just don't have the depth for that

Looking at your schedule for next year I see 4 wins if you guys are lucky?
It has been three years and London has had one season over .500, our coach came in and is averaging over .750 and our fan-base isn't happy with him. If he goes 3/4-8/9 next year will he stay HC?

If UVA ever takes football seriously, they could consistently compete for the coastal. I don't see what GT, UNC, or Va Tech has thst Virginia doesn't, other than bigger commitments to the sport. So much talent up there...teams like FSU really shouldnt be in the mix at all, but we are. Consistently.
Get off the pocketbook. Hire a bigtime head coach. Profit.
