  • was debating this issue with some co-workers on an issue.

does Adderall "go bad" or "spoil"?

a co-worker previously had a prescription and quit taking it - now he feels like he needs it and went back to his leftover prescription. he hasn't taken it in 2 years. but - the kicker is, he feels like he is getting nothing out of it. so his stance is - Adderall expires.

my stance along with several other co-workers believe that he needs a different dosage or needs to be evaluated for another prescription option.

    TIA

  • To be honest and its really not the answer you're looking for but you both could be right. If the expiration date was two years ago or was left open or exposed to heat that could be the case.

    Buck that

  • Not a pharm, but I know that many drugs have "expiration" dates where they still safe to take, but over time they become ineffective.

  • basically - i'm telling him not to take it and go see a doctor to get a new prescription but he is convinced it's ok.

It won't hurt him, but it probably won't help him either.
