Tennessee would have had a good argument if not for their decline during/after Fulmer. It's just hard to make an argument for them after that becsue they have fallen so far off the radar. But then again, 6 national championships is hard to ignore. If those titles were more recent, I would have put them on the list. They just missed out as did FSU. FSU only has two NC's. That just does not work for a blue blood without a ton of years on top of the college football world IYAM. But IMO:
1. Florida 2. Penn State 3. Miami 4. LSU
UF has had a tremendous amount of success in the hardest league in football the past 20 years. They have done so with two different head coaches and a 3rd almost pull it off this year. UF is such a good program I feel like some of us could even be moderately successful there. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
Penn State should almost be left off because of what happened. But if we are talking about on the field tradition, they are hard to leave out. They would be number one if not for the crap.
Miami is a true "new" blue blood in every sense of the word IMO. They have been average lately, but 5 national championships is something that can't be ignored. They have produced some of the finest players in all of college football too. They would be hard to leave out.
LSU has had a ton of success as of late. I think you will see them continue to sit atop the SEC West with a few other teams. That will leave them in striking distance for more chances for titles. This ones a little hard because they only have 3 NC's, but two have been recently and like said above, I think they will continue that streak down the road. I reserve the right to change this last pick after someone has made better argument for another team. lol
Tough question, but a good one.

That one in '92 hurt. Put a dagger in the U for 10 years. Hope y'all come back to the party one day. College football is better when the evil empire in Coral Gables is rollin'.

With all the excitement of the last 4 out and all that jazz with the basketball tournament, who are the next 4 in for blueblood status in football?
Note: All recognized National Titles via cfbdatawarehouse (take it up with them). Also, on the field stats are used.
1) LSU- 12th in overall victories, 14th in overall winning %, 4 recognized National Titles, 2 BCS titles, 5th in overall wins since 2000, and 3rd in winning % since 2000.
2) Penn St- 7th in overall victories, 10th in overall winning %, 4 recognized National Titles, 4th in overall victories and winning % since 1960.
3) Florida- 22nd in overall victories, 16th in overall winning %, 3 recognized National titles, 2 BCS titles, 1st in overall wins and 2nd in overall winning % since 1990.
4) Florida St- 12th in overall winning %, 2 recognized National Titles, 1 BCS title, 2nd in overall wins and winning % since 1980.
What is your next 4 in?
