The Blue Board

The Big Spur(Carolinas 247 site) has adopted Mary Lee, a 3,500lb, 16.5' great white shark as our pet. She was tagged off Cape Cod this summer, where a new seal population has developed. For the past two months she has been patrolling the coastline of the Carolinas, only once trvelling south to Jacksonville before heading back.

She is part of a research program on Great Whites run by Ocearch.org. Our board is putting together a pledge drive to help fun further research, (it really is fascinating to track these fish) but they are a non for profit. To help support them we are pledging a $ amount for each point Carolina scores vs Michigan and each point we win by, we would like Michigan to do the same. Of course your risk is very low compared to ours :) As I predict 40-13 Carolina, meaning a $1 pledge would only cost Michigan fans $13 while a $1 Carolina pledge would mean $67.00

If we can raise enough money, I am A) going to get a Q/A session with the man in charge of the great white tagging, and if we do really well B) Ask for one spot as a volunteer on a tagging expedition next summer(you will of course have to pay for airfare/lodging to Cape Cod.) but there are worse places to be in summer.

Any other teams willing to participate in this challenge, are welcome. I will not touch any $, it will be donated directly through 247. Put your money on your team, outside of LSU I don't know who has a bigger risk than Carolina. Post on your home site and get enough raised for a good cause and make the volunteer position a no-brainer to Ocearch. If we get to $20k we will get airfare and lodging paid for winner(if you don't want those costs donated) If I get to $100/points scored total by tomorrow am I will contact the research team and get this done, then follow up with media outlets. We were at $7 on our board in first 5 minutes so shouldnt be hard
