Brandon Weeden = Chris Weinke

  • He will be out of the league in a few years because of his age will catch up to him, and he is not worth a second round pick like some are projecting. He also played around other great players like Weinke that made him look good.

  • I don't think anyone questions that. He isn't even as good as Weinke was. Some teams are looking at him in the 4th to 5th rounds because he can be a good backup for 5-6 years and that's worth a middle to late pick.

He is better than Weinke was, Weeden won games with a 5th of the talent Weinke had around him

Any QB coach in america will tell you that Weeden is better, and so far I have heard everybody compare him to Weinke and end by saying he is better at this stage.... cause he is

Both won't do dick in the NFL though, a late start is a late start in a league where the majority don't last long anyways

but lmao at Weinke being better

  • Weeden has a better arm than weinke, but it still not worth taken a risk on a player in the second round who will be 30 by next year.

Agreed, but Weinke was not better

He was on the better team, that is all

  • The one thing they both have in common is that they both had elite receivers in blackmon and warrick, and pretty good running backs.

Yeah Blackmon is much better than Warrick but that was all OSU had really

Weinke also had Boldin, Minnis, Coles, Dugans, Among a few others who were very good players

But all those mentioned played in the NFL

  • Weeden actually made Blackmon better than he really is.

    I disagree with that

Weeden is solid but not great

And Blackmon is a beast of a WR and pending his health will flourish in the NFL

If anything Blackmon made Weeden look better

  • Weeden will be around for 5-6 years in the league...not sure if he'll start right away but he's damn good and will make his team better wherever he goes. He has a great arm and he has it where it counts most...his head.

  • Weeden was in a very favorable system.

He's worth a 5th round pick if you need a solid backup, but he'll done with the NFL after 1 contract.

He actually played in Oklahoma St. offense, and it is about the same as most Big 12 offenses.

I laugh at this because guys like John Beck, Chad Henne, and other worthless as players get taken that high and only hang around because they're young.

If he can start for 5 years then 2nd round is well worth the pick.

John Beck was about 26 when he was drafted, because he was one of those BYU kids who had went on a mission for a couple of years before college. Chad Henne showed a lot of potential in college, and Michigan QBs have a reputation of being good in the league. Plus Henne looked like a solid starter when he was healthy.
