kind of agree with you , dont know why we arent playing Hinske for his bat right now as we are still struggling at the plate ( the team as a whole ) ; dont think that Nate is going to play well enough to warrant a start every night especially as well as Schafer is playing in the leadoff spot right now . Really think we will be better when we get Prado back in a couple of weeks and if Uggla comes out of his hitting funk

Uggla keeps showing signs of coming out of his funk but then doesnt. Annoys me

thats the problem or situation with regards to Lowe in that we do have him for another year and someone told me the other day that Chipper has another year on his contract that is guaranteed for next year ; we do lose McClouth after this year as i believe he has a club option year left and we also lose the Japanese pitcher that we are paying a boat load for thats playing in AAA for them

Kawakami there is a player, he is now getting rocked in AA ball...what a bust

  • watching the game tonight and told my son the same thing - dont know much about hitting but it sure seems like he doesnt watch the ball as closely as he should ; of course the man is making how much money a year and i am sitting here posting about him ????

His head moves when swinging the bat. Easy way to put it is hes not keeping his eye on the ball. But theres a little more to it

  • gotta be b/c you know everybody in the organization his telling him what to change ; will be glad when he gets back to hitting above 240 again . Any thoughts about letting him go down to AAA to get his confidence back up or would that be a slap in the face for someone over 30 ?

  • just heard on a national radio sports show that the Braves are interested in possibly obtaining another piece to their outfield before the trade deadline ... who knows which players that will involve but can certainly use an upgrade

really a shame and there is literally no way to dump his contract - we lose both Kawakami and McClouth next year as well as their huge paychecks

Part of the issue is he beefed up even more in the offseason, think that fubar'd his swing. I don't remember what but I think there is something with AAA, either he has no options or his contract states it would be his option.

  • he needs something to change - maybe the break around the 4th will get him some rest or something ; agree that he looks really big but he was almost as big last year and played like an all-star . He will be fine and really we should be grateful that the team is where it is given all the injuries to both the pitchers and top players on the team this year holy

  • We really need to get some more AB's for Ross....having a pretty good year with limited action.

I have heard names up to Matt Kemp. But that would involve Jurgens.

Kemp isn't going anywhere...he is the face of the Dodgers.....I would guess it would take a lot to get him.

we are loaded at several positions including SS and also have several young guns we could throw out there as well

Exactly, we're the Braves. We don't buy talent... we grow it and trade.

If our front office traded jurrjens away, in the middle of cy young year, I would want every member fired. From the GM down

i would literally stop supporting them for several years , it would be STUPID for them to even think about doing something like that when you have other great options within the organization to deal holy

I agree we have 3 very good young SS, with that being a position of need after Gonzalez is gone, I don't think it would be wise to trade one. Right now, there isn't much sepertation betweeen SS, heck none are even in AAA ball. I'm curious what other positions do you think we are loaded at besides pitchers?

i think we are loaded at pitching at every level first and foremost - out of our top 20 "elite" prospects over 3/4 are pitchers , we have 5 SS in the system that are all projected to play at the major league level within the next several years ; there are 8 outfielders in the system that are great players in Cunningham , Jones , Milligan , Constanza , Cabreara , Daniel , Gartell and Rameriz ; the Braves have 4 middle infielders to work with and many can play multiple positions as well

  • having stated that i really think we are thin at 1B , 3B and maybe even catcher but luckily for us we have 3 great players at that position in the Bigs in McCann , Prado and Freeman - should be good to go there for at least a couple of years

I am not sure that Prado will ever settle on a position, he is too valuable as a super utility player. It worries me that we don't have anyone at the farm that can take over 3B. Could do something crazy and move McCann to 3b? Is it really that crazy with the wear and tear on catchers? Plus I think one of the knocks on McCann is that he isn't that great at throwing out runners. Heck they're already a light hitting team, don't think it would matter if a light hitting defensive catcher was back there..lol. I really like McCann, I want him around awhile.

he is def the heart and soul of our team right now ; would love to let Ross play more innings as long as we could find time for McCann somewhere in our batting order . We def need to find another 3rd base player sometime soon so that Prado can concentrate on other positions
