Hanson needs to start going more than 5 innings, no need to work the bullpen like that.
And learn to freaking slide step from the stretch. Not getting stolen on constantly is high school fundamentals.

missed the final two innings he pitched but it looks like he didnt pitch all that well although he didnt give up an earned run ; he had the error and gave up 3 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings pitched

Chapman - triple A pitcher around 26 yrs old that throws pretty well - sounds like a pretty good trade for us but not the lights out trade i was hoping for

Maholm has an ERA around 3.50 and in his last 5 starts he is 5-0 with a 1.00 ERA.. Reed Johnson is batting .307 in 180 ABs

saw an article that stated that he was pitching as well as just about anyone in baseball over his last 5 games - wow do we need that kid to come in and pitch well for us the rest of the year

The Braves front office continues to amaze. They trade a prospect ranked as high as #14 in baseball preseason, albeit on the DL, for a #4 SP and a platoon OF. All for Chipper to get one last shot.

I agree. But most of these fans would be pissed about anything. They could have traded Vizcaino for Mike Trout and someone would have been "amazed" that we gave up prospects. Then turn around and complain we have all of these pieces and won't trade away any of them.
In reality, we got a solid pitcher (that's much better right now than anything 4-5 we have) and great bench player without giving up Minor, Delgado, Teheran. Add to the fact that now we can keep Medlen in the pen. Not a bad deal if you ask me

I want to see Medlen get a shot... He's been solid in a SP role before, and he was downright dirty in AAA before being called up. To me he has a "feel" for pitching (soft word I know), because he always seems to keep batters off balance.
I'd rather see Medlen in an SP role than JJ at this point, JJ is bringing nothing to the table.

Stuck at work for another hour, keep updates coming.
Hopefully Medlen can have a very solid start. Wish they would let him go six if his count is somewhat low. The pen has been way over-used as usual with Fredi.
In the last 7 days, the pen has pitched 15.1 innings. Minor going eight in his last start was huge.

It was a solid trade. Vizcaino already has a history of serious injuries, so might as well let it be someone else's problem. Trading for Reed is big because now Prado and Bourn can get a day off here and there. He is a way better option off the bench than Hinske or Diaz. Still trying to figure out why Wren brought Diaz back.
