Braves Sign Sean Gilmartin

The Braves have signed their first round pick in the 2011 amateur draft, 28th-overall selection Sean Gilmartin, reports Jim Callis of Baseball America. (Twitter link) Gilmartin, 21, is a 6'2" left-hander out of Florida State who the Padres took as a high-schooler in the 31st round in 2008. Terms of the deal haven't been released, but MLB's recommended slot bonus for the No. 28 position is $1.134MM.

No problem. Actually figured you guys would've already knew about it. Guess not. I've been absent of late but hopefully that will change. I plan on checking in more so than I have. Hope we can get some guys back healthy and make a nice little run to start off the second half to the season.

I can't wait for Prado to get back. He's good to go for tomorrow night in case y'all didn't know that either. Add a healthy Prado to our lineup and hopefully we can score a few more runs.

Yep. I keep reading more and more about Carlos Quentin and less about Bourn. This bothers me since our OBP and steals are horrible. Quentin has some pop but he strikes out a lot and is hitting in the .250s.

I would agree if he was successful at it. Ive seen it work maybe twice. It's usually a strike, foul, or bunted way too hard.
