Need to get McLouth out of the lineup and pitcher like Beachy. The Bravos need to do what they can to pull Pence.
The Phils also want him and if the Braves let that happen, they might as well just concentrate on the WildCard and hope players like McLouth and Gonzo play like all stars.

need the hitting but dont see giving them a MLB starting pitcher for someone that will be a free agent in a couple of months

really think we need more of a longer term solution in this case - we have several really good prospects and even a couple of good starters that we can trade and make this team a much better team for longer than three months .....JMO

I agree..I want Bourn, Pence, or Upton. We need someone who can play every position in the OF, mainly CF.

I'm not a Braves fan but would rather have Beltran vs Pence. Lots of factors but Pences lack of in base skills, cost to get him and the fact his numbers are helped by a short LF fence and a career outlier in BABIP would make me hesitant. Beltran gets on base better, similar D, better slugging %, switch hits and won't cost either Delgado or Vizcaino. Those are top 15 and maybe even top 10 minor league pitching prospects on most mid season lists.

good point for sure but Pence and/or Bourne you could get for multi years without neg a new contract and with Beltran you only rent the player for 3 months and he's gone

Just heard on the radio here in Atl, Gammons says the Braves are the frontrunners. Giants #2, but the Mets want Wheeler, the GA pitcher the Braves wanted but the Giants took him and we got Minor.

Beltran deal would only be good if we intend to sign him to a longterm deal. Why give up solid prospects and only rent him for 3 months. Wouldn't make any sense at all and if that happens, the Braves front office is a bunch of clowns and will never win a World Series.

friend in Atlanta just called and told me he heard a deal was pretty close to being done and that it involved Mike Minor and B Schaffer ... wow could be interesting for sure . He didnt say who we were getting though ..

If Minor is involved, it won't be a Ludwig, Gomes or someone of that stature. I'm hesitant to deal with someone in the East.
