    very true although he has played alot better lately no doubt and the team really needs him to improve in order to somehow catch Phil ; the guy can play but he was so bad for so long i dont know if he can even reach .250 by the end of the year

    no telling with Uggla for the rest of the year but he had to start playing better than he was - he was horrible for most of the first half of the season

    I dont think you're a jackass. I have never once scolded you for ragging on Uggla. Different fans like different players bring something different to the game. I only get mad when people that ARE NOT real fans rag on people. And to my knowledge everyone in this thread is a fan and loves the braves. Notice that guy who started the "trade heyward thread" has never been seen in this thread and probably doesnt know about it. Those are the people I take offense too. You might complain about Uggla, which earlier was mostly justified, but I guarantee you if a Phillies fan was saying the same thing to you in a bar you would tell him to shut his mouth.     What I do know is this team is fun to watch. And they are playing like a bat out of hell right now.

    That they are. IMO it's bittersweet. Are pitching hasnt been nearly as strong after break as it was before. But on the otherhand our hitting has gotten a lot better. I just wish we could do both at the same time. Heyward is finally heating up, Freeman has exceed expectations, and we have some good young arms. I have to admit, I was getting frustrated with Heyward and his injuries. Ive been a big fan since we drafted him but he has not showed that "numb me up and let me play" attitude. Even Chipper called him out. IMO Heyward is our next Chipper as far as franchise All Stars go, and when Chipper called him out a while back he was trying to let him know he expects more.

    Phillies fans, and northeast fans in general, are just abrasive as shit. One of my best friends from college is the biggest Phillies/Eagles you'd ever meet and you'd think we hate each other when we talk MLB/NFL...just the way it is.

    Actually got into it with a Philly guy on a golf trip in May. My friends were telling me to chill out but he freaking loved it because us southerners are usually trying to be nice when we argue sports.

  • So who do y'all think will be the SS next year? Do we bring Gonzalez back for a one year deal, bring in someone from Free Agency or how about Pastornicky? I say Pastornicky will be the everyday SS next year. He's had a pretty good year so far and just got promoted to AAA.

    honestly wouldnt mind Omar back. Was sad to see him go. Guy is a ball player just like Prado and he loved being a Brave. I would try to get Omar back or develop our farm talent. Way too much age in that free agency.

    1 year deal with a 2nd year option unless Gonzalez thinks he's worth more...which he most likely won't.

  • I could handle Gonzo for one more year. Andrelton Simmons is another guy I'm high on, if he can prove he can hit as he advances through the system. I still think he's two years away, at the earliest though.
