  • McCann is a really good receiver but his blocking is lazy. Tries to glove everything. He's gotten a lot better at throwing with his weight loss. He's not so heavy in his squat and he's getting his right foot behind him which is squaring his shoulders much better.

    For whatever reason his pitch calling with Kimbrel has been very sketchy. Falls in love with his slider. Did it last year a lot. Did it with Buck tonight. Why he didnt climb the ladder on Stanton is beyond me. Dude was late on the first and then gave him 3 low fastballs.

    I know I'm being too critical because I love McCann, just a couple things that annoy me.

    I agree the 3 straight sliders were a bit much..but Brian usually calls a good game. One of the main reasons were at the top in ERA in the NL

    Oh I agree. He does call a good game. I just don't like how he handles Kimbrel. Kimbrel has one of the filthiest strikeout pitches in the game but it hardly ever gets called with 2 strikes. His heater above the belt is deadly. Some of it's Kimbrel not locating but it doesn't get called much either.

    agreed great movement on his fastball..at least we had some timely hitting tonight. Glad to to see that. Freddie is getting hot..need him to carry Uggla until he gets acclimated

  • better than losing pretty...im likin schaffers play. Hes adding much needed speed on the base path. Once we get some people back from the DL we'll be a force to be reckoned with.

    Well, we need Uggla to stop doing his best Jenna Jameson impression every time he gets up to bat, too.

    For those of you playing the home game, that means he sucks major d*ck whenever he has to hit.

  • He was trying to freeze him. Kimbrel can keep his fastball lower for strikes that just about anyone, its what makes him effective. There's so much rotation it has little to no drop, and even looks like it rises a little because of the TV angle.

    With 2 on and a guy like Stanton at the plate, you don't risk him winning the game in one swing and sure as shit don't expect him to think he's getting a 4th FB in that situation if the ball is down. It wasn't a bad pitch, the problem was Kimbrel throws hard enough it doesn't take much to hit the ball hard. They had him positioned correctly for how he hits playing pull, 2B up the middle and Freddie protecting the line deep. 99 times out of 100 Stanton doesn't go oppo in that situation or even try to. He was trying to stay alive and put good contact on it, the pitch did all the work.

    That's baseball though. Should be really happy with the current record and position in the standings with the amount of injuries and abysmal hitting.

    The Phillies have started out with a lead the past few years because they play garbage teams in the beginning of the season. Hopefully the Braves are getting through their injuries now as opposed to the end of the season like 2010.

    our offense is awful..mainly because are lineup is pitiful tonight. Heyward needs to take his tampon out and get back in the lineup. Uggla has got to start hitting. And now Prado is hurt. censored
