    Yup. Wherever he goes, he'll have to be dealt by the 30th so he can actually be traded before the deadline. I posted it yesterday, that's another reason I think we should move our attention to someone else.

    had no idea about that situation and i was just going to post that i heard earlier today that a trade was really close to being a reality ; cant really believe everything you here in the press these day , thanks Tusks

    Honestly man I completely forgot about the threats. I had been drinking heavily and was just trying to motivate you. Looks like it worked. lol That one with Kimbrel in the throwbacks is bad ass.

  • Rosenthal from Fox Sports is saying the Braves aren't inclined to trade anymore because of Uggla and Heyward heating up. Also with out pitching depth, the Braves want to hang on to Lowe and believes it beneficial.

    If the Braves don't get upgrades in the OF, mainly CF and LF we will not come close to touching Philly. We will win the WildCard and lose in divisional play once again. Atlanta front office will never do what it takes to win like the good old days. Oh well, maybe one of these days someone that wants to win will come along and buy them.

    IF everyone got hot at the right time then we might have a shot but to your point why not go on and make a move now that will benefit us this year and next ; dont see us being able to compete with the Phils with their pitching if it got down to it but stranger things have happened .

  • The problem is that the Braves get hot every year around the trading deadline then cool off. It's going to be hard to get a leadoff hitter....Freddi think that Schafer is doing fine, in fact in an interview I read he was shocked how low his OBP was.

    really thought Schafer was going to tear it up the next time he got his shot at playing at the major league level , he has to be really disappointed

    I didn't have high expectations of him, I think people forget he looked good when he was on PED's. He's fast I give him that, but below average hitting, and maybe slightly above average fielding.

    Are you saying the manager didn't know his leadoff batters OBP? WTF.

    I think Fukodome would be a good fit for yall. The Cubs would eat some money and that guy gets on base a ton. If your manager doesn't keep up with OBP though it might not mater. That is shocking if true.

    Colby Rasmus might be on the move.

    From Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch comes word that the Cardinals’ front office has engaged in “accelerated” trade negotiations this week with White Sox GM Kenny Williams.

    No deal is imminent, but Rasmus is the centerpiece and the Cards are believed to have their sights set on White Sox starter Edwin Jackson and left-handed reliever Matt Thornton. Some minor league talent might also be exchanged, and a third team could enter the mix in order to complete the potential swap.

    Rasmus is batting just .241 with a .730 OPS through 374 plate appearances this season and has at times played hesitant defense in the outfield, but he’s still regarded as one of the top all-around center fielders in the game and probably hasn’t hit his peak at the age of 24. In 2010, the former first-round pick registered a quality .859 OPS with 23 home runs, 66 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

    Rasmus has twice requested a trade away from St. Louis and it looks like the Cardinals might now grant that wish in order to bolster their pitching staff. The Redbirds enter play Sunday with a slight lead in the NL Central.

    I think with the way Heyward and Uggla have been playing the last week or so, the Braves are contempt with staying put as far as going after a bat. We really need a RHP for the bullpen though. EOF, Venters and Kimbrel are used way too much.
