Braxton Miller and Jeff Driskel

  • The nation's top two QBs according to 247Sports in 2011. I think Miller is Ohio State's next Heisman Trophy winner. Driskel has made his fair-share of plays as well.

What are your impressions of both so far?

  • Braxton will not be developed by Urban. A ton of potential if under the right staff to become NFL caliber.

Driskell has been very impressive in two road games in tough environments. Miller will definitely be in the heisman talk next year, Driskell as well if he keeps this up. I do want to see how Miller handles himself in those same situations though.

I think you guys underrated Teddy Bridgewater. I like him better than both.

He's certainly been pretty darn good and looks like a future pro in the games I've watched this year. Thanks for throwing his name out there.

  • I have been impressed by both. Miller is definitely in the right system, but I think Driskel has shown more poise, I mean he has lead two 4th quarter comebacks. I think both are in the right system and both are doing pretty good so far.

  • Bridgewater was ranked as our No. 6 dual-QB coming out of high school.

    Auburn's Kiehl Frazier was three.
Oklahoma State's JW Walsh was four.
    UCLA's Brett Hundley was five.

No. 7 was Bubba Starling who had as much athletic ability as Miller and Driskel in my opinion but he's playing baseball.

  • Driskel is underwhelming to say the least and Braxton hasn't done anything vs a team that matters.

  • Johnny Manziel was No. 9

He'll be better than everyone above him.

  • I think Bridgewater will be the best college qb of the group imo. Too bad he plays at Louisville where no one will pay attention to him. Kid has uncanny leadership ability. Kind of wish LSU had taken Eli Rogers to get him.

I ahven't been impressed with Miller as a passer. His talent is tremendous.

I have to admit that Driskell has exceeded my expectations. Want to see him versus a good defense. He'll get that in 3 weeks

I like Manziel so far. How long does Matt Davis stick around sitting behind him? Can he beat him down the line?

  • I knew Driskell would be a stud, once UF revamps the RB's and WR's for his next two years he will light shit up

His weapons blow nuts right now and still gets the W's, very smart QB for a sophomore

He gonna be stretched out on the canvas at Doak though and bleeding from his belly button after Werner jams his cock into it

Seriously, I'm a huge homer and braxtons atheletic ability is huge but he really really sucks at reading the field and throwing the deep ball. I can personally gurantee you that he will not win a heisman. I'm willing to bet myself paying double yearly sub price for the time he is in college if you are willing to give me double free years if he doesn't win one. I will pony up and pay double my monthly rate until he leaves college. If he does not win it by then i get free years for all my extra cash paid doubled.

  • Agree with the Bridgewater people. Really improved from last year.

Haven't been impressed with Braxtons decision making when he doesnt run.

  • Gotta keep in mind that Braxton's QB coach last year was a video coordinator from YSU. Dude was a scrub and in no way should have been coaching QBs at tOSU.

I'm not sure who coaches Brax more now, Urban or Herman.

Yep both interceptions were bad. Pretty bad to extend a play and let Devin Smith get wide open too. I like what I see out of Braxton as a Soph more than TP or Troy Smith.

  • I personally think Urban overuses Braxton Miller. He doesnt have the size of a tebow and it would worry me if I am a buckeye how often they run him. The only positive is that it seems like the Big Ten sucks this year and he might not face an elite defense all year.

As for Driskell, he has impressed me. The TAMU win was more TAMU looking terrible but Driskell had some amazing play on the road at Tennessee and those fans were fired up.

I think Davis can but im not sure anymore. I loved Davis coming out of HS but he has been put in a bad situation. Manziel spent all spring with a QB coach he made HUGE strides from last year. Davis will redshirt and he might have a chance next year, but if he cant he will have to wait till his SR year and have to beat out Kohl and Hill for the starter. Davis's best bet might be if he cant beat out Johnny next year is switch to either Safety or WR.

He's a good quarterback, but when he doesn't run when he's out of options, it hurts him. Not saying that he shouldn't scramble and get people open

At times I agree but for a sophomore QB in a different system he's progressing pretty good. We only lose Stoneburner and Hall next year and adding a few key pieces that will only help him in the comming years.

  • Coaching is the key here. Braxton now has Tom Herman & Urban working with him and that is HUGE in our world. He still has a long way to go, but his future is bright, very bright.

You go back to '04, OSU struggled to start the season, flipping between Troy and Zwick. Finally Tress stuck with Troy and the offense took off towards the end of the season with Ginn (true freshman) and Holmes got on the same page.

Braxton as a freshman didn't have the luxury of Joe Daniels like Troy did (neither did TP) as its been pointed out ITT, now he has a OC and QB coach that will make him better.
