Devin Gardner will start the first year at least if he is healthy. He plays whenever Denard gets banged up. Further they experimented with some formations where they were both in the game and alternating snaps last year.

Gardner (who I'm not high on) and Russell Bellomy.
Bellomy wasn't highly recruited but is a smart QB, with some movement, who is fairly accurate. He can bridge the gap if Devin doesn't win the job.

Agreed. I think that they were worried about getting DG playing time. If he had left Michigan would be screwed for depth at QB.

Not writing him off, just not especially high on him. Pardon me for not giving him a pass just because he was highly recruited. I hope he proves me wrong, I just doubt it.
