  • Sad day. My favorite player of all-time. Thankfully he will come back and retire as an Eagle and be honored at the Eagles-Giants game this year.

Hopefully he can get elected to the HOF.

He should be a first ballot depending on who is on the ballot when his time comes.

I agree, but safeties always struggle to get in. Obviously Reed and Troy P will get in - I think Dawkins should as well and should be a first ballot type.

I understand, but I don't want HOF voters to look at them and think "To get in at safety you must be absolutely incredible, and he was probably third best in his generation."

  • I really wish we could find a way to convince him to come back to coach at Clemson.

Gotta be the greatest player we ever put in the NFL.

He is probably the best player to come out of duval county and we have had some pretty good players come from this city.

Yeah but sometimes great players don't make great coaches

Im sure he will be around the program some and that helps a lot too

He always seemed like a cool guy to me so when recruits see him say on a visit or something it will make an impression

Guys like Terrell Buckley for example pretty much locked up Lamarcus Joyner for us and he is just a GA and now went to Akron cause we just don't feel he is ready to coach

Peter Warrick is another, he was trying to coach so we sent him to his old high school to get used to how it works

aka.... you ain't ready yet partner, scoring 28 TD's in 3 years is great ( P Dub's record at FSU for total TD's, maybe 31... whatever ) but it doesn't mean you can motivate young men into better men on and off the field, that is a different talent altogether

But some do have it for sure, either way like I said Dawkins will benefit your program regardless from here on out

That is the kind of importance a player like that brings a program, he was always on teams I hated ( minus later on with the Broncos ) and I always loved him and his game

  • As an Eagles fan you don't find many players in the league anymore that gave it their all every play. Here is a good montage of him, gives me chills ever time I watch it.

Also Eagles have an open invite for Dawkins to come back and retire as an Eagle

His intensity level alone would help our program tremendously.

Yeah Im not saying he can't coach, and yeah Im sure he brings lots to the table

I think he should at least get a GA position and work with the strength staff for starters and see how that works

    If he wants a job

Yeah he played some former Noles, and other solid college players in high school. His High School team Raines was loaded when he played.
