Brian Kelly to the NFL?

Gruden is not in play though and he never was in play. Realistically, who is out there? Nobody worth a damn (at least no one that jumps off the page).

Gary Patterson or maybe finally Peterson IMO

I typically agree with your posts because, like me, you're a Bama fan that uses logic, BUT I still have to disagree with you on this one.

I have to see more from Kelly

Maybe it's just false hope. shrug

    Reid wasn't a big name.

And without Jim Johnson, he would have been terrible. Jim Johnson was the guy responsible for the Eagles run, not AR.

Whiz hasn't shown me anything. I think he is just a great coordinator and that is it. Without Kurt Warner, AZ has been terrible.

Without Kurt Warner they've had Matt Leinart, Kevin Kolb, John Skelton, Derek Anderson...

He's also had a top defense. Once again, something your team could use.

I've heard for the Eagles the following:

    Mike McCoy
    Ken Whisenhunt
    Todd Haley
    Doekker (sp?) Falcons OC

Those are at least the four I've heard mentioned most. I'll admit that I'm not the most tuned in guy when it comes to the NFL though.

Peterson is too nice and crying for Ol' Hitch-Pants would never fly in Philly.

They are all terrible and uninspiring.

So you give him a pass for not investing in the most important position on the field?

Unaware he was the general manager in Arizona. He did the most with what he had, which was Fitzgerald and nothing else on offense.

I dont know who exactly you're expecting to come in- Belichick?

    Don't blame me,

I'm not the GM or owner. I sure as hell wish I was though.

If I was going to hire someone, I would probably try to hire Kyle Shannahan, an up and comer, and then force him to work with Norv Turner at OC. Shannahan is young enough that he would listen to what the owner wanted seeing as though it would be his first HC position, and I think Norv Turner is tired of being a HC and honestly just wants to run offenses from now on.

Shannahan respects Turner (Mike and Norv are longtime friends so I'm assuming his son respects him as well) and just seems like the two would be a hell of a fit together.

They had the draft. Instead, they decided to give Kolb a ton of money.

I'm not blaming you, I'm just saying that no one available is that much better (if at all) than Brian Kelly.

As the HC, he certainly had input on what they did.

    Don't discount Nick Foles.

I think that kid has a lot of potential.

Luck and RG3 were long gone, nobody thought Wilson would be anywhere near as productive as he has been. Who should they have drafted? shrug

His game plan was to attack the best cornerback in college football on Monday, when we had a guy on the other side of the field that UGA, LSU and A&M all torched.

I think there are a lot of people that would be better picks than Brian Kelly.

    clap so true.

and, speaking from experience when he was at UC, the guy is a complete asshole.

They also had like the 4th pick in the previous draft. And who says they can't trade up? Look, if my options at QB are the slop that they had, I sure as hell wouldn't be walking away empty handed.

    Ken Whisenhunt
    Todd Haley
    Bruce Arians

There are three right off the bat.

Edit: I'm also leaving out some obvious choices that are defensive minded since the Eagles have come out and said that they are going to hire an offensive minded coach.

  • Seriously? Saban took him to the cleaners and now he is in line for an NFL job? Kelly is very very solid, but not NFL caliber..that being said as a Redskins fan maybe I want this to happen
