  • Deron Williams expected to announce his re-signing with Brooklyn, Joe Johnson now on the squad, Gerald Wallace on the squad, and now they are offering Marshon Brooks, Kris Humphries, Brook Lopez and 1st rounders in 2013, 2015, 2017 for Howard. That is a trade Orlando can not pass up. He will be in Brooklyn by Monday. IMO

    Prokhorov does not give a CRAP about two things: the luxury tax and draft picks. He only wants proven players and has billions and finds running a sports team as his true reward for becoming rich.

    Am I the only one that thinks they could have the potential to be almost as good without making that trade? They'd have a pretty nice starting five and be able to bring Brooks off the bench. Howard has already proven to be quite the douche, especially given his recent back problems.

    Because Dwight has declared he is signing with Brooklyn after next year. He did that to hamstring Orlando allowing only one trade. No other team will get a long term re-signing from Dwight if they trade for him.

    That's the funny part. Brooklyn is likely held ransom by Deron wanting Dwight or bust in terms of resigning.

  • Brooklyn's best bet is just to wait for Dwight to become a UFA, he only wants to play in Brooklyn and then they don't have to give up pieces they don't want to. Prokhorov seems willing to go well into the luxury tax.

    They dont even really need more pieces like Miami did, they have a true PG superstar and a C superstar neither of whom NEED to be scorers to be effective, but both can score. Dwight's defensive presence alone would make them right there with the heat IMO, LeBron will have trouble driving to the hoop with Dwight there.

    Dwight is a bigger bitch than Lebron ever was. He never had trouble going to the hole against the Magic in the past. Plus Dwight is great and all but he is a liability in close games and would be a non factor in close playoff games because of his free throw shooting. Plus when the slightest thing goes wrong he bitches out for the rest of the game. On top of that he cares much more about being boys with JayZ and marketing himself than he does basketball

  • Brook Lopez is undervalued greatly by the common fan. He was a 23 year old 7 footer averaging 20 ppg and 7rpg last year when healthy.

    Fair enough but I still don't think Deron going to the Mavs if Dwight's arrival in Brooklyn is delayed by a year is written in stone.

    Also the notion that the Nets would be better without Dwight is ridiculous. Dwight is the best defensive center in the league whereas Brook Lopez might be the worst defensive center in the league, as for Humphries I don't want a player who gets more mentions on TMZ than on NBA Tonight. Marshon is the only piece of that possible trade that I wouldn't like to give up.
