Fair enough but I still don't think Deron going to the Mavs if Dwight's arrival in Brooklyn is delayed by a year is written in stone.
Also the notion that the Nets would be better without Dwight is ridiculous. Dwight is the best defensive center in the league whereas Brook Lopez might be the worst defensive center in the league, as for Humphries I don't want a player who gets more mentions on TMZ than on NBA Tonight. Marshon is the only piece of that possible trade that I wouldn't like to give up.

Dwight is a bigger bitch than Lebron ever was. He never had trouble going to the hole against the Magic in the past. Plus Dwight is great and all but he is a liability in close games and would be a non factor in close playoff games because of his free throw shooting. Plus when the slightest thing goes wrong he bitches out for the rest of the game. On top of that he cares much more about being boys with JayZ and marketing himself than he does basketball

Well... Yeah..
But I highly doubt it happens.
Now I see why so many people hate the NBA. This is the way the NBA is now. Players want to be with their friends. They want to eat grilled cheese sandwiches together and get matching black-rimmed glasses. They are tired of playing against each other. It’s too hard.
Oh, well.

If the Nets can get Deron to resign knowing Dwight won't come till next year and then they get Dwight to shut up and play it cool till then you may have Brooklyn as the NBA's best team in 2013-2014.
They'd spend this year pleading with Lopez to rebound and defend better and then at the end of the year they'd trade him for maybe two nice players and a mid first round pick. Then sign Dwight Howard.

Why are you so certain of this? I think the East will be a BOAT RACE as long as James, Wade, and Bosh are attracting veteran free agents like Ray Allen.
Also, Dwight has never started for a team not coached by Stan Van Gundy and Stan BUILT an offense around Dwight with a bunch of three point shooters. This was so he was able to be single covered all game. If he goes to Brooklyn, or any other team, his offensive numbers will diminish drastically and teams will double team and foul him all game long.

I'm starting to think the only reason Dwight wants to go to Brooklyn is because it's the best team where he can be "the guy".
If he goes to the Clippers it's CP3's team. If he goes to the Lakers it's Kobe's team. If he goes to the Mavs it's Dirk's team. If he goes to Chicago it's D Rose's team.
He likely doesn't think than Deron will pose much of a threat to his crown as "king" of Brooklyn.
