Bryce Harper debut

Through 21 games, the Nats have given up 5 or more runs in only two games. Their staff is killing it so far.

    but they hit like shit...

Hoping Harper can do something with the bat, Left has produced nothing at the plate, might as well let him have a crack at it

  • Seeing how all star appearance is voted on by fans I wouldn't be surprised if Harper is an Allstar this year

The future is bright here in Washington D.C.

Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez, Jordan Zimmerman, Edwin Jackson, Ross Detwiler = Best rotation in baseball

Detwiler is going to be good too. He was a top 10 pick in the 2007 draft. Took a little bit of time to find his groove, but is pitching just as good as everyone else in the rotation but Strasburg (Cy Young this year, IMO). Detwiler has a 1.64 ERA and has 19 K's in 22 IP.

Another factor to our long term success (and there will be long term success..), is that our top four pitchers are all locked up LONG TERM. Below is when all of them will be free agents.

    Detwiler - 2016
    Zimmerman - 2016
    Strasburg - 2017
    Gio Gonzalez - 2017

Bryce Harper is going to be great, but he will have growing pains. A 19-year old isn't going to come into the majors and just dominate like LeBron did in the NBA. It's a lot more complicated than putting a ball into a basket, as we all know. It's going to be exciting to see him develop into another Larry Walker or Josh Hamilton -- hopefully..

I'm excited to see our 1st round pick in 2011 Anthony Rendon get the call in the future though. The best hitter in college baseball last season, and was raking in the minors before he sprained his ankle.

We will have a dangerous lineup in another year or two with Harper, Zimmerman, Rendon, Morse, and a few good prospects that are in the minors. Watch for Tyler Moore today, he got called up as well. He's hit 62 homeruns combined in his last two seasons in the minors, and had 7 so far in AAA before getting called up today.

Watch Tyler Moore today. Just got promoted today. Kid has pop in his bat. 62 homeruns the last two years in the minors, and 201 RBI's. One of our top 5 prospects.

They will become a force, and I wouldn't be surprised if they won the NL East this season. Our offense is struggling because our best hitters are injured and out of the lineup. Just like the Miami Heat would be incapable of scoring more than 90 points a game if Bron, Wade, and Bosh were out of the lineup.

Ryan Zimmerman, our best hitter (signed through 2019) is on the DL for another two weeks. Michael Morse, our power hitter, is in the minor rehabbing his tricep, and should be back in May. Once these two our back in the lineup, you will see more runs scored, and it will make our pitching that much more effective.

He will also be the biggest jackass.

This. The kid is from Vegas and was/is a huge douche. During a Junior college game, an ump called a strike on him to strike him out.... he proceeded to draw a line in the dirt w/ his bat to show the ump that he was wrong.

That amongst many many comments. He's just kinda a jerk. But I guess that's what happens when everyone tells you that you're the best from the age of 10.

  • He's definitely got to be the most hated player in the majors with just one game under his belt.

Yeah, I jacked up the wording of that. I should have said, "Of players with such limited big league experience, he definitely has to be the most hated."

I appreciate talent, but this kid's attitude makes him hard to actually like unless you're a Nationals fan.

    Love it

    Makes for electric atmospheres

Rodman made the Bulls games even more entertaining and they already had Jordan and Pippen

Harper brings that to the ballpark and I can't wait to enjoy a big game in the new stadium in a packed house

Washington fans go nuts when he have a reason too, Ill never forget the way RFK would rock up and down back in the day for Redskins games

  • The best players in baseball over the years have been dickheads, jerks, douchebags, or drunks

But everything these guys are talking about happened in the past. Everyone in the Nationals organization have been complimentary and praising the way Harper has handled himself in the minor so far before the call up. And he busts his ass on the field, that's all I care about. You won't see anyone on our team hustle as hard as he does.

Yup, I was dying with laughter and excitement when he threw his helmet off lol

    I love this KID!!!!!

When he becomes a full grown man at 24 or so he might cost us 250 million dollars for 10 years, but seriously signing him and Strasburg is going to one hell of a task

We need to get smart as a city and sell out every game we can so we might be able to afford it before the god damn Yankees come in and steal everybody

  • Bryce Harper just made a great leaping catch in CF while crashing into the wall to rob Juan Uribe of extra bases.

    Nationals are loaded with money.

They will be a big market team, not as big as the Yankees (nobody will be...), but we signed Jayson Werth to a 7-year, 126 million dollar contract. Ryan Zimmerman got a 11-year, 135 million dollar deal. We will have no problems keeping our guys home, as long as they want to stay home.

If that's the case, why have they been so lousy since they moved from Montreal?
