  • I remember Brionte Dunn saying he had a ton of awful stuff said to him on twitter after he decided to stick with his OSU commitment. Of course, classy Michigan fans would never do something like that. It was probably OSU fans pretending to be Michigan fans, right?

  • I don't know why the Buckeye fans are getting all emotional and downvoting the OP, it's just going to make you guys look like you're condoning death threats...

  • At least the random fan(s) who are idiots and made a death threat aren't representing the university like the UM commit who, you know, made a real death threat.

At least our fanbase isn't acting like what Bosch did was right. No one condoned it, and within 15 minutes, the tweet was gone, and he tweeted an apology.

Meanwhile, many of you Buckeye fans are backing your idiots, further evidenced by the downvotes I've received. It's not that I care about the downvotes, I actually laughed, it's just making you guys look worse. You bring all this negative media attention on yourselves, then act like victims, and it's pathetic.

    What happened to you guys?

You are getting downvotes because you are attacking an entire fanbase. Your thread is bullshit. Just like annoymous death threats, talking about bringing a gun, and burning an official letter on twitter...... Starting shit to make others look bad. Thanks but no thanks.

Stop playing the victim, I did no such thing!

Here's an excerpt from the OP: "I know not all Buckeye fans are this bad, but to the ones that condone sending death threats to a 17-year-old: what the hell is wrong with you?"

Regarding all the downvoters: is their reading comprehension too poor to read the actual post?

No, I don't buy that excuse for one second. The public school system isn't that bad in Ohio, so don't try that excuse either.

Edit: I went back and bolded that passage. Now, no one has any excuse for missing it.

With all this stuff going on with both Michigan and Ohio State recruits, it makes me even more excited about the future of The Game. It's going to be an absolute war for the next few years.

    Believe that.....

  • OSU fans threaten Michigan recruit, he calls for ‘blood on the field’ | Prep Rally - Yahoo! Sports

From the blog Prep Rally: There are great college sports rivalries all over the country, but few can compare with the intensity of Michigan and Ohio State. The bordering midwestern states harbor a legendary threshold of hate for one another, the likes of which can even make Red Sox and Yankees fans blush. Still, what happened to one Ohio native who dared cross state lines recently went beyond any sense of pride or rationality into a nearly scary situation ... and may have given motivation to both teams come next November. Yep, that was a Pitt student.

It was a Pitt student that ran up and smashed a beer can on them. It was Penn State fans that threw the other 50 beer cans, cheered the Pitt student on, and then were thrilled at what he did after.

Let's get this straight. Paterno reported what happened and the people above him dropped the ball. Furthermore, Paterno did not have authority over Sandusky's status with the university after his retirement. You can assume that he did, but the authority over Sandusky laid squarely on the BOT.

Joe's not a saint and the coaching staff isn't perfect. But he isn't the problem in this case.

Like I said earlier, PSU fans want to turn the BOT into the scapegoats so that they can keep their hero Joe Paterno.

Let's get this straight... If I knew and reported something like that to the people above me and nothing was done about it, I would go directly to the police. If nothing was still done about it, I would go to the news papers. I would not sit there for 10 years while a predator was using the respect of my University to lure in children. The only thing I can think of is they wanted to keep things quiet so that no shame was brought upon Penn State (ala Catholic church with pedo priests).

I agree...and at the time, I said that was seriously wrong.

We both have to accept there are crazies on both sides. That is a fact. Another fact is that the death threats happened. They have been verified by multiple sources, including journalists. If you don't want to believe that...I can't do much more to convince you.

Both sides need to tell people to stop using violent rhetoric. It is idiotic. We can hate each others football teams without doing that.

I live in Columbus. Most Ohio State fans think this is completely and utterly idiotic, and think that death threats are way over the line. Why people on these boards can't accept that reality is beyond me...and that goes the other way too.
