Dan Mullen of Mississippi State has a different method of recruiting. Most of his recruits he wants to personally see in camp, before giving an executable offer. Last year at this time, the numbers of recruits committed was about the same, very few. However, he wound up with arguably his best recruiting class. Depending on which rating system you believe, it was a Top 20 class, with two 5star recruits, plus 4 4star recruits. Quay Evans, Nick James, Denico Autry, Beniquez Brown, Will Redmond, and Richie Brown. Last year's class also was very well balanced, with 11 offensive players, 11 defensive and 1 specialist.
