CALL TO ACTION: March on State Capitols, 19 Jan, 2013!

  • WE ARE MARCHING ON THE STATE CAPITOLS ON JAN 19 2013 AT NOON LOCAL TIME. Watch video for details and check out www.guncontrolmorecrime.com. This is another in a series of many Calls to Action (CTAs) as we work as a unified team to defeat anti-self defense gun legislation in 2013. The proposed AWB seeks to criminalize millions of good Americans is a power grabbing, Marxist attempt at people control. We stand and be counted NOW, not cower in our houses hoping for the best and ranting anonymously on the internet about crap that doesn't matter. Time to nut up or shut up.

Tried to do that in the last election. Apparently Americans want higher taxes. My paycheck was 2% lighter today.

Thanks for your contribution. You probably think the blacks and women were "whiny" when they stood up for their god given rights as well.

Do you equate minor gun regulation such as background checks to be the same as denying people their basic civil rights on account of race or sex?

Do you equate minor gun regulation such as background checks to be the same as denying people their basic civil rights on account of race or sex?

Right. Because no state does any background checks whatsoever before allowing the legal sale of a firearm. Why don't you go read something and then come back to us.

And yes, the right to bear arms is a basic American right. Doesn't matter what race or sex you are, you should be able to defend yourself.

But I suppose you think that guns kill people, not people, amirite?

I view all assaults on the Constitution equally. The right to bear arms is a natural right. There is a reason it's listed 2nd in the Bill of Rights.

And if you think the measures being proposed have anything to do with "background checks" then you are uninformed and should probably just sit this one out...

So how come when somebody suggests that we require background checks for gun shows and private sales, you guys nearly blow a fuse? Or with an assault weapon's ban? Or mandatory trigger locks? Or any other relatively minor regulation? MrBlonde seemed to equate these small measures with the shameful denial of voting rights to people because of race or sex, which is obviously a ludicrous comparison.

And like other constitutional rights, it's subject to some degree of reasonable regulation. Free speech, free exercise of religion, ability to petition the government, right to vote... all subject to regulation. But whenever somebody suggests ANY degree of gun regulation, you guys lose your minds.

    "You guys?"

    I don't nearly blow a fuse. I own one gun. A 12 gauge shotgun.

Don't characterize me as a lunatic. I know that's what you left-leaning gun control advocates do, but just stop.

Until you can cease the stereotypes, discussing this matter with you will be pointless.

But I'll just say... yes, there are times when assault rifles can be used and have been needed for self-defense. Were you alive for the LA riots? Yes? No? Like I said, don't bother answering if you are going to preface your reply with "how come you.....?" when you don't even know me.

Denying an American the right to defend themselves is just as shameful than denying voting rights.

And I'm sure that if and when you'll ever need to defend yourself, your snarky comments will provide all the firepower you'll need.

We typically "blow a fuse" because we are dealing with ignorance.

    1. Gun show sales are subject to background checks just sales in gun stores.

    2. There is already an assault weapons ban. Semi-automatic rifles are not assault weapons.

You really don't know much about this subject. If you'd like to understand here's a video that explains assault rifles vs. semi-auto:

    Assault Rifle vs. Sporting Rifle

The media and the anti-gunners are trying to tell Americans that "assault weapons" need to be banned for public safety. The problem is, assault rifles were banned in 1986. What they want to ban now are semi-automatic sporting firearms. The firearms they want to ban account for less than 1% of the firearms used in crime. We need to stop this mindless attack on our Constitutional rights. Isn't it cute how all these gun control advocates don't know anything about current regulations? They just obsess for hours and hours over the Sandy Hook tragedy and think all of a sudden "guns are bad, mmmkay? I'm an expert! I've been watching Wolf Blitzer for four hours now! These right to bear arms people are a bunch of lunatics this close to blowing a fuse!"

Guns are already regulated. Off the top of my head...

    I can't own one if I'm a felon.
I can't own an assault rifle.
    I can't carry a concealed firearm without a permit.
Even with a CWP I can't carry in tons of places.

Gun owners are saying that's enough.

Please give me examples of government regulating free speech and freedom of religion to that extent...

By "you guys" I meant people who get defensive when gun control is mentioned (Which is pretty much everybody who is disagreeing with me in this thread. Admittedly, my original comment was "snarky.") I wasn't stereotyping people who own guns, just the ones who are politically zealous about the issue.

And do your really think "Get out of here, negro! You can't vote!" is the same as "Sorry sir, we're not allowed to sell that gun anymore, please choose from any of the other 300 models we sell" ???
