CALL TO ACTION: March on State Capitols, 19 Jan, 2013!

  • MrBlonde said...

WE ARE MARCHING ON THE STATE CAPITOLS ON JAN 19 2013 AT NOON LOCAL TIME. Watch video for details and check out www.guncontrolmorecrime.com. This is another in a series of many Calls to Action (CTAs) as we work as a unified team to defeat anti-self defense gun legislation in 2013. The proposed AWB seeks to criminalize millions of good Americans is a power grabbing, Marxist attempt at people control. We stand and be counted NOW, not cower in our houses hoping for the best and ranting anonymously on the internet about crap that doesn't matter. Time to nut up or shut up.

  • I bet the Jews in Germany in the 1930s wished they had been allowed to own guns. You people act like governments have never turned bad before, even though history is full of them.
How about natural disasters when no police are available and you have to protect you family? Some people are gonna get a harsh awakening one day when they need a weapon and don't have one.

Leading up to the 1938 jewban, they aleady couldn't own property, businesses, or anything else you'd want as a respected citizen so it's not like taking their guns was out of left field.

You're right. The only thing preventing genocide in the United States is guns.

Jews absolutely owned property in the early 30s.

And let me guess, Obama is Hitler?

    c_woodson

  • In 1938 the Nazis increased gun restrictions on Jews. After "Kristllnacht" later that same year, gun ownership by Jews was made completely illegal.

Never said that, but what if the next guy is?

Well that's why the term "leading up to" was used and not "on a timeframe of your choosing". 1938 rolls around and as a jew you haven't left Germany yet...c'mon man.

Sorry, but separation of church and state is also in the constitution. There is nothing wrong with teaching some principles in the Bible in a non-religious way.

Separation of church and state is NOT in the constitution. The constitution is attached, please read it. By the first amendment, the government can neither establish a religion (see Church of England for context), nor can they prohibit the practice of any religion (see any of a host of Islamic countries today where Christianity or any other non-Muslim religions are banned).

Ummm...what exactly do you think the intent of the 1st amendment is? Go check Thomas Jefferson's interpretation of the Constitution and get back to me.

Gtfo with posting the constitution and telling me to read it.

The intent is clear... Whether or not you choose to practice religion X, Y, or no religion; it will have no impact on your relationship with the government (eg your taxes or guilt in a court of law is independent of your religion or lack thereof). TJ even referred to the 1st amendment as a wall between the organizations of government and religion. What irks me when people say "separation of church and state" is that they often carry it further than the founder's intent and use that phrase as a reason why all prayer or references to Christmas must be removed from schools or other public events. That was clearly not the intent of the founders (FYI, I am not religious).

You didn't go there, so I am sorry that I jumped the gun. It is just a touchy phrase with me. I guess that is because I am neither a bible thumper, nor an anti-religion zealot; and I have the utmost respect for the US Constitution and the founders. The other biggie for me is when people refer to the US as a democracy. We have democratic principles, but we are a constitutional republic by design ( although we continue to erode into a democracy).
