Washington as well and recent polls show favorably supported.

So what is up with the rest of the country being so prudish? Old blood?

Possibly. I think it might also not be the most pressing issue at the time for some.

  • My only issue is that you can test if a driver with a sobreity test for pot. I know back when I smoked I was a shitty driver when I was blown. You shouldn't be smoking high grade weed then driving(especially not in snow and ice like I used to). If its legalized are you allowed to puff driving down the road? How is it enforced if a cop can't prove when the weed was smoked. I see absolutely nothing wrong with someone smoking in their house, but I'd prefer not to share the road with a bunch of high mofos.

A breathalyzer-type device? Possibly the same laws as DUI....under the influence...good question though.

  • The biggest thing is that if you keep it illegal yet decriminalize it the biggest issue isn't solved: the fact that jobs can discriminate against me for using it.

Let's face it, getting weed is easy as pie and I've NEVER worried about cops when buying weed. My "maybe I shouldn't be doing this" thoughts have been 99.9% about employment endangerment.

If you make a change but jobs can still discriminate based on illegality then nothing's improved.

Ive always been an excellent driver when stoned. Too paranoid to want to crash and deal with the law. Always had what I call the "video game" mindset. obeying all traffic laws and driving defensively scores you points.

Now drinking and smoking a driving is another story. Alcohol is the real bad component there. Totally like harshes the whole equation, mannnn.

Ditto. When Im sober I speed and drive aggressive. When I've been high I drive two under the limit and have hands on 10 and 2 oclock.

First, yes of course it should be legal. It's preposterous that it's illegal.

Second, this coming from Pat Robertson is representative of a major shift in public thinking. Pat Robertson is an evangelist and a far right Christian conservative. Even him, who undoubtedly thinks weed is a terrible evil thing sees the futility of keeping it illegal.

Weed can't really be construed as a terrible evil. It's believed by Christian fundamentalists to be something that robs you of your sober mind the Bible calls you to maintain but even a hardcore conservative knows it's benign compared to Alcohol. Alcohol is truly ingratiated into our societal fabric but it may need to be removed at some point.

That's religion at its finest and isn't a teaching of Christianity. If those people are doing it because they think it's beneficial health wise that's more of a personal preference. Anyone saying that's doctrine or theology are mistaken.

I avoid coffee because I think its relative and I can get myself going without it. My mom's addicted to caffeine and its not projectable or healthy. Anyways....

Yes, and sometimes going 40 on the interstate causes accidents too. I never had any accidents driving high(and did driving drunk, thankfully nothing major), but still I remember doing some stupid ish driving high. Just boneheaded mistakes.. Just so I don't get killed for driving drunk I was stupid, and no longer do.

Any marijuana test is useless, since it stays in the system for a month. They will have no idea if you got high five minutes ago, or five days ago. I really don't want to share the road with some dude smokin a blizzy, so if we go to "legalizing", we should probably think this through. When I was in college, I wrote a ten page paper on why it should be legal, now at 30 with a kid I have different concerns.

no, you were cooler when you came up with your anti-Biblical rhetoric yourself. Getting it from your home room friend is something I won't entertain.

Only when people say dumb crap. I said I drive two under and you make some snide comment about how slow rolling on the highway causes accidents and admitted you can't drive, likely sober or high.

Who said that? There's no discussing things with a poster like you when I can't even decide what I post. I said I drive more passively and with more attention to detail. Better? You made that up. Yup.
