California vs the rest of the NFL - Who Wins?

  • At least this match-up would make for an interesting Pro Bowl.

California has enough talent in the NFL right now to take on the rest of the All-Pro's in the NFL.
So, who wins? California or the National team? Well, let's take a look at what the
line-ups might look like, if they actually staged this game.

Eligible to be selected for the California team would be any player born in California
or any player who played his high school football in the golden state.

    CALIFORNIA____________NATIONAL
    ==================================
    QB Tom Brady.......................Drew Brees
    QB Aaron Rodgers................Peyton Manning
    RB Arian Foster.....................Adrian Peterson
    RB Marshawn Lynch..............Ray Rice
    RB Maurice Jones-Drew.........LeSean McCoy
    WR Steve Smith.....................Calvin Johnson
    WR Stevie Johnson................Brandon Marshall
    TE Tony Gonzalez..................Rob Gronkowski
    LT Ryan Clady.......................Joe Thomas
    LG Logan Mankins.................Jahri Evans
    OC Ryan Kalil.........................Nick Mangold
    RG Carl Nicks.........................Chris Snee
    RT Matt Kalil...........................Jemron Bushrod

    Defense -------------------------Defense
    DE Jared Allen......................J.J. Watt
    DT Haloti Ngata.....................Vince Wolfork
    DT D.Peko/P. Soliai...............Ndamukong Suh
    DE Chris Long.......................Julius Peppers
    LB Clay Matthews Jr..............DeMarcus Ware
    LB Bobby Wagner.................Patrick Willis
    LB Lance Briggs....................London Fletcher
    LB Akeem Ayers....................Terrell Suggs
    CB Richard Sherman.............Darrelle Revis
    CB Brandon Browner.............Charles Tillman
    CB Nmandi Ashomugha.........Asante Samuel
    S Dashon Goldson................Ed Reed
    S Troy Polamalu....................Earl Thomas

    KR Reggie Bush....................Jacoby Jones
    PR DeSean Jackson..............Devin Hester

It's close, but I would give CA the edge at QB, RB, and OL.
WR and LB easily to the National team.
DLine and the Secondary about even.

I think California pulls out the close victory (you knew I was gonna say that)
and pisses everyone off even more. Well, at least it would be a better watch than
    the current Pro Bowl.

  • Cali would be favored by double digits, imo.

He walked on as a TE at FS, btw...crazy success story.

Peterson has the 2nd best season ever at running back and you think that those three Cali chumps have the edge?

No doubt AP had a great season and is a great back but I would take Foster, Lynch, Jones-Drew, Doug Martin, Reggie Bush, and Ryan Mathews over any group of RB's the rest of the NFL could put together.

It doesn't matter. AP is going down as a top 5 RB of all time with the possibility of being the greatest if he has a few more beastly season. All those players you mentioned are just "good". They are on par with the other National guys that you mentioned.

As a group I'll take Cali running backs over National.

LOL at you calling Arian Foster and Marshawn Lynch just good.

Cool but being you'd only have one RB on the field I'll take national any day.

  • Cali Trio combined have accounted for more TD's than the National Trio.

    Cali Trio>National Trio

You can have more than just 1 RB on the field, but if I had to choose a starter it would be AP. But don't make it seem as if Lynch, Foster, and Jones-Drew are just scrubs compared to AP. All could make an arguement for being Top 5 in the league as RB's.

Why didn't the OP include Alfred Morris instead of Rice or McCoy? 1600 yards (more than any cali guy) and 13 TDs. His choices on both sides are curious.

Lynch, Foster and MJD are scrubs compared to Peterson.

I think McCoy, Morris, and Gore could round out National top 5 at any spot #3-5.

You can combine a list if you'd like. It's not that hard.

Lol okay, whatever you say guy.

I think it is rediculous to say that you would take Cali when you have a RB (Gore) for the National side that has had a better season than any of the Cali RBs and another (Morris) who only had 2 yards less than the best season of any Cali RB mentioned. Laughable.

EDIT: And that isn't even including Chris Johnson who had a 2k season.

I don't know that I would say that Gore had a better season than Lynch, Martin, and Foster who finished #3, #4, #6 in rushing yards compared to Gore who finished 10th.

  • Tom hasn't beaten Eli, when it counted the most.

Why isn't Eli on the list?
