Cam Newton

  • As should be obvious, I'm an Auburn fan. So I have no ulterior motive.

    Obviously his team sucks, the coaching staff is in disarray, and the front office is in shambles. That being said, he is making some terrible decisions.

    He is sucking @$$ right now. I think if he gets his mind right, he will be a legit player. If not, then he will be a bust. My AU allegiance doesn't blind me to that fact. I hope he can get it together, along with having a competent coaching staff and front office, so that he can have a successful NFL career.

    Cam has quickly become a liability in fantasy football. You gotta put in the players that give you the best chance to win each week. In all honesty, Denver was a terrible match up for Cam with V. Miller and E. Dumervil coming off the edge.

    I've not seen him play a lot this year. Do you think he'd benefit from playing for an iron fisted organization? Obviously, he wouldn't play over Brady...but I mean someone like the Pats. From a great distance, my guess is that the organization is so pitiful that he feels like he's the only indispensable person, which affects his mouth and attitude, if nothing else.

    I think that might be an issue. But I think having a better o-line and working more on his accuracy will do him well. As I said above, its all about Cam getting his mind right. Guys like Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, etc., did not just come out of the box superstars from day 1 dominating everyone. They got where they were by putting in the time in the film room and on the practice field. They became students of the game.

    If Cam can do the same, then he has all the physical tools to be successful. Any problem Cam has ever had has always been between his ears.

  • I never claimed Cam was perfect. He throws off his back foot too much which greatly affects his accuracy. However, anybody other than a truly elite quarterback like Brady or Manning would have a hard time excelling with the Panther roster. Their running game is non existent as evidenced by the following facts:

    They havent had a player finish with a 100 yard rushing game all season

    their leading rusher other than Cam had something like 200 yards rushing for the entire season

    they probably had less than 15 yards rushing as a team against the Broncos

    The weight of carrying their entire offense falls on Cam's shoulders because of those things. Their offensive line is also such hot garbage that Cam was sacked 6 or 7 times against the Broncos even with his superior running ability
