Can anyone explain hangovers to me?

I didn't drink any more last night than I did on Sunday or Monday night and I drank a lot less than I did on Tuesday night but I woke up feeling like I drank a whole cask of wine. Why does this happen?

Dehydration and lack of Vitamin B12 (I think that's the one).
I drink a fraction of what I used to when I was in college. My go-to preventative medicine is 2 tablets of alka seltzer in a 16oz glass of water before I fall asleep. Works every single time.

Vitamin K deficiency or potassium actually. Best thing is tomato juice. I don't like tomato juice to I drink vitamin water revive. It has potassium and electrolytes to help make you feel better. Drink one of those, take a couple advil liquid gels, then drink some water and you will be set

I think it's all the sugars in the wine... I used to get bad hangovers mixing drinks with gatorade or powerade or whatever... but I switched to the G2 or Powerade zero and it went away.

True. My question is why do I bounce up all perky 90% of the time when I have two or even three bottles but 10% of the time, the same or even less floors me the next day. It is like the intensity of the hangover and the amount I drink aren't at all related.

I got a hangover the very first time I got completely obliterated. I've never had one since though. I can drink as much as I want of any type of alcohol and when I wake up it's like I didn't drink at all. I will say there have been times I've woken up, still drunk, but I feel fine after it wears off. I don't know what causes hangovers or why some people get them worse then others. I just consider myself lucky as hell to not get them.

I would say I figured out how to drink what my body would allow to prevent hangover within the 19 years of raising a daughter. I think your full of shit. In one thread you have a daughter in college and in the next you don't know what drinks give you hangovers.

I have found that it has to do with what you drink and not amount of consumption. I have found if I mix whiskey and beer I will have a hangover. If I just drink the one I wont.

The issue isnt his drinking. Its that he stops occasionally. If he would just continue guzzling booze constantly, there would be no hangover.
