Just out of curiousity, do any of you in favor of executing think that pedophiles chose to be sexually attracted to kids?

There may be some rare occasions but I feel the only thing that they find sexually attractive are kids so I agree that they for the most part cannot be rehabilitated but do you think they actually chose this?

I believe that they chose to act on those sexually attractions. I don't know the science behind it but seeing as though it's against the law and children can't defend themselves, then it's wrong whether they chose the attraction or not.

I find it quite illogical that a pedophile would ever choose to be attracted to children. Just like none of use here chose to be heterosexual (provided we are all male and heterosexual - I don't want to assume), it just happened that when we hit age 11 we noticed that boobs are awesome.

For a pedophile to choose to be attracted to children, he either needs to be unaware that it is illegal and harmful to children, or not care. I find the first of those options completely impossible, and the second would make him a psychopath. To me, the far more logical option is that they simply are attracted to children.

The difference between my post and your argument is that people chose to use cocaine and then got addicted. I doubt pedophiles tried molesting kids first and then got addicted.

I agree the analogies aren't perfect, but the general point that people can be rehabilitated without losing addiction/attraction remains the same.

I always found it odd that homosexual mob rape was worthy of city-wide death and destruction but incestuous rape is treated as the necessary part of ancestry of the people of the Bible and totally cool.
