I am a cancer patient, and have been going through chemotherapy since October. I am doing much better than I was, and hope to make a full recovery. Anyone else been through this too? I watch a lot of college ball, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma. I keep hoping to see more athletes follow Trent Richardson's trend of helping young people with cancer. It's bad enough people my age get it, but it's even more horrible to see a child suffer through this. Thank you in advance for any advice and encouragement!

Thank you! I am fighting hard as I can. Chemo just takes a lot out of you. I get discouraged that I can't do a lot of things I used to do.

I have non-small cell adeno carsinoma. Stage 4. It was in my lungs, right hip, spine, and had 2 tumors cut from my stomach. As of my last scan all of it has shrank considerably!

|They would not do radiation. Said mine was too scattered for radiation to be effective. So far, this seems to be doing good. I had to have a port put in last month. My veins were vanishing on them. The port seems to make treatments much easier. I took my diagnosis with a chip on my shoulder. Cancer has already taken my mom, dad, uncle, and 2 aunts from me. I'm not going without a fight!

wow, hate to hear stuff like this...
really puts all the b/s on this board into perspective...
attitude and nutrition are huge!
you obviously have the will and the drive to fight this horrible disease so feed your body with fruits and veggies to help...
try and stay positive (i know its easy for me to say) but spiritual thinking can help too....
i wish the best for you!!!!!

My dad has been fighting cancer for almost a year now. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 Esophageal Cancer last year, right around football season. Almost lost him, had to be put in the hospital for a week on two different occasions. He's a Vietnam vet, so he knows how to fight, and he has been with no complaint.
Good luck to you sir, and prayers will be sent your way.
