We have entered the AU Spin Cycle.
Let's see if I remember how this one goes.....
Everyone wants X. Puppet is hired. AU fans spend a day crying about it. Next day, they are all in again and in denial over what just happened. The staff that comes in is amazing. 4 years later, they see the light. Then they realize they have a horrible administration that can't seem to stop throwing up all over themselves. They have a candidate that would be an A+ hire (Petrino), but see that the good ole boys wouldn't be able to control the show if that hire is made and a puppet is hired instead. The staff that will come in will be amazing.
Sounds very familiar, IMO.

Maybe maybe not, but there was a better candidate to be had and you know that.
Short term, Gus is improvement. Not sure about long term.
One of the things I struggle with is that if he wouldn't have left, he's probably fired along with everyone else right now. Instead he's the HC.
