Car Antennas

  • I just upgraded my audio system in my car, but I'm still having trouble with the signal reception. We've come to find out that it is an antenna problem. My question is what is the best type of car antenna out there? And where can I go online to find antennas?

  • lol, disregard this thread. We found the problem.

    I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS and the rear defogger wasn't working. The tab is knocked off and needs to be re-soldered. The antenna is connected to the defogger.

    We touched the tab to the window and I had pretty good radio reception.

    Very common problem. Did you get new rear speakers? If so the installer probably knocked it off when they pulled the back deck. Take it back and make them fix it. It's not difficult and should have been caught when (if?) they did a checklist.
