KD career average 26.3. Career FG% 46.8, career 3% 36.4 and career FT% 87.8.
Melo 24.7 points, 45.6% FG's career, 32.2% from three for career and 80.5% FT's for career.
That's the baseline before getting into why KD is the better scorer, and how he gets it done so efficiently.

Based on what I saw in the Finals, I'm actually gonna go with Melo. Let me just preface this by saying I definitely think KD is a better all around player and it isn't close.
I think Melo just creates his own offense better. As spot up shooters which is mostly what both of them are I really can't tell how you'd say one is better than the other. Theyre both pretty lights out. Melo definitely jacks up more bad shots but I think he's got a way better low post game. If you get in Durants body and muscle him off the spot he wants to get to, as witnessed in the Finals, he's pretty ineffective from there. There's simply no doing that with Melo he's such a big body. I also think Melo is more effective off the dribble. Durant is really troubled by having a high dribble because of his incredible height so when a really good, smaller defender (a la Battier) gets in his body, he has a hard time creating space for himself to get his shot off. As with Melo, going one on one in any way is clearly his specialty.
Just one man's opinion, but I go with Melo as a better individual scorer.

if you break it down to all around game its Carmelo. He's a inside and outside guy when it comes to putting up points but I would still take Durant over Melo. Melo is what he is but Durant is just scratching the surface of how good he could be.
