Tough to tell from the video but it looked like he could've missed the plate. It was a finger-tip slide, that's for sure.

That's baseball. Bang-bang plays happen all the time, 99% of the time umpires get it right. I surely wouldn't want their jobs. No one understands this more than fellow Tiger fans, when Jim Joyce missed the last call of the game when Armando Galarraga would've had a perfect game.

I got over it. You will, too.

Yeah. You've got that margin of error with umpires. You can't expect them to be perfect all the time, but it sucks when they miss a call for your team.

That wasn't a bang bang play. He touched the plate and then got tagged. No excuse for a call that bad.

Yup, insane. I remember Ajax's play right before the easy ground ball and got so nervous because it was blasted. Still amazed every time I see that play.

Rod is probably one of my favorite announcers especially after his call during that play against the Indians last year with Ajax gunned out a runner at home to end the game. Went total ape ish.
