totally false. I am not telling you anything. Do you know what democracy is? The majority of the people make the rules. So if the majority of people say you cannot possess heroin, then damn right that majority can tell you how to live. Is it morally wrong to do heroin? Maybe, maybe not. but the majority of people say it is wrong, therefore your right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness can be legally taken away if you do heroin.

The majority of people in some states believe gay marriage is wrong. That is democracy dude. What don't you understand about that? If it turns the other way, i can sit here and bitch all day long (it is my right, just like it's yours) about gay marriage being legal, but the majority of people are the ones who make the laws. This isn't a 3rd world country where some powerful American Catholic Priest is telling everyone "this is the way it is. I don't care what the majority says". You are in the minority in most states. It is what it is. And what it is is democracy.

Actually, gay mariage is favored by the majority of America now.

Boy scouts just annouced they are continuing ban on gays in the boy scouts, and not a word. Is it because the boy scouts don't make a killer chicken sandwich?

To be honest with you, I didn't even realize it until someone mentioned it to me a little while ago. Thought it was odd that I had previously heard nothing about it.

    http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_19861001_homosexual-persons_en.html

Maybe you should read up on what your own church says...

"Homosexual activity is not a complementary union, able to transmit life; and so it thwarts the call to a life of that form of self-giving which the Gospel says is the essence of Christian living. This does not mean that homosexual persons are not often generous and giving of themselves; but when they engage in homosexual activity they confirm within themselves a disordered sexual inclination which is essentially self-indulgent."

"The Church can never be so callous. It is true that her clear position cannot be revised by pressure from civil legislation or the trend of the moment. But she is really concerned about the many who are not represented by the pro-homosexual movement and about those who may have been tempted to believe its deceitful propaganda. She is also aware that the view that homosexual activity is equivalent to, or as acceptable as, the sexual expression of conjugal love has a direct impact on society's understanding of the nature and rights of the family and puts them in jeopardy."

"10. It is deplorable that homosexual persons have been and are the object of violent malice in speech or in action. Such treatment deserves condemnation from the Church's pastors wherever it occurs. It reveals a kind of disregard for others which endangers the most fundamental principles of a healthy society. The intrinsic dignity of each person must always be respected in word, in action and in law."

Thanks for proving my point. The first quote goes back to what i was saying about MARRIAGE being the issue. Marriage is supposed to be open to having children. A man and a man connot conceive. That why some heterosexual marriages are anulled if one of the parties decides they will not conceive.

The 2nd point shows that the church has it's position and will not be moved by polictical pressure

The 3rd point shows that the Church thinks it is "deplorable" to treat homosexuals with any violence or malice.

Again, you don't know what you're talking about.

Moreover, if marriage is about pro-creation, then why isn't fertility or the want of children a pre-requisite for marriage?

Exactly. If its about procreation that people who can't procreate can't get married either. Otherwise it's just discriminating against homosexuals.

  • So a Christian man, who I have met several times not only talks but walks his Christians values and people are upset? Mr Kathy believes in the teaching of Christ. If some of you do not like it, there are many many other places to spend your money. I hold him in high regards that he does not buckle to society.

7:1 Now, to deal with the matters you wrote about. A man does well not to marry.
7:2 But because there is so much immorality, every man should have his own wife, and every woman should have her own husband.
7:3 A man should fulfill his duty as a husband, and a woman should fulfill her duty as a wife, and each should satisfy the other's needs.
7:4 A wife is not the master of her own body, but her husband is; in the same way a husband is not the master of his own body, but his wife is.

Notice the bible says Woman and Man? Not Man and Man or Woman and Woman?

If you all can't understand the difference between a medical problem hindering childbirth and the fact that two women or two men having sex can't result in childbirth, then i don't know what to tell ya.
