Yes, how dare we protect the rights of minorities, at the expense of the majority having to... er.... having to...

How does this affect the majority?

Oh I know! Pick me! Pick me!!!

  • I will never understand how supposedly 'small-government' conservatives support the government deciding which religion people may practice. Just unbelievable. Gay marriage has never been about children or the 'sanctity of marriage' (divorce, Kim Kardashian, and so on)- it's about certain people believing that their religious beliefs trump other peoples' right to live as they please.

Libertarianism is where it's at. The economics of the right without the war-mongering fear tactics and the hilarious closed-mindedness. Doesn't matter if you love gays, are indifferent towards gays, or are a southerner. Everyone should be able to agree that laws shouldn't be made that require people to abide by the religious beliefs of others. Don't like gay marriage? Don't go to a church that performs them. Don't befriend gay people. WGAF if random gay people are allowed to get married?

If that is your pic on your Signature then you are cute darlin' but I have a co-worker who is gay and his roommate who is also gay and not his partner listed him as a partner on his benefits at work. The roommate is a flight attendant so my co-worker flys anywhere that this major carrier flys for only 100.00. Is that fair? You and me are both paying for this whenever we purchase airline tickets.

Also, all medical care is free. Expensive drugs to combat a condition brought on by their lifestyles? No problem. Done deal. My company had to decrease all of our benefits lately because of rising medical costs.

If i were to get angry with either of them and have a fight? Forget about it. That is a hate crime. It carries extra penalties. Being a heterosexual, manogomous, white male kinda sucks. nowadays.

Is it fair that a homosexual guy has to subsidize the airfare of the husband of a female flight attendant?

First, yes that is me and thank you for the compliment.

As for the airline perks, that has nothing to do with being gay. We ALL enjoy the perks that come with knowing certain people, every one of us. People who have friends who are mechanics often get parts cheaper or even free labor. If you know someone in retail you can often get their employee discount. I have a family member who worked in the Alabama athletic department for several years and was able to get extra tickets to games when family was visiting from out of town. My stepfather owns a high end custom cabinet manufacturing business, if I want new cabinets I can often get them at little or no cost. It goes on all the time and in a variety of industries. That's life, I'm not going to gripe about anyone taking advantage of something of that nature.

The insurance is a different matter as I would imagine it counts as fraud. Without knowing more details I can't exactly speak intelligently on the matter.

I do have a problem with the claim that an insurance company is paying for medication for something "brought on by their lifestyle" what exactly does that mean?

If you're speaking about HIV or another std then shame on you. Anyone can contract HIV or STDs. Those aren't confined to the gay community in any way. Magic Johnson is not homosexual yet he is HIV positive. And he downright admitted that unprotected, heterosexual intercourse with multiple random women was how he contracted the disease. I have no idea how any intelligent person could take issue with reckless behavior from one sexuality over another. Reckless behavior is reckless behavior no matter how you cut it.

As for your company cutting benefits, I am sorry. As I mentioned earlier, my stepfather owns his own business and last year they cut their benefits as well. It was the only way to stay in business and not lay anyone off. That is the economy and has nothing to do with homosexuality so I'm not quite sure what your point is.

Being a white, heterosexual male isn't hard so I'm not even going to address that.

Straight people can do all of those things. That's a joke argument.

Being a white, straight male in the United States is possible the most privileged position in the entire world. The fact that you think otherwise basically means you're completely incapable of empathy for people less fortunate than yourself.

If you think your life is hard because you're a white, straight male, you need to wake the f*** up.

How, exactly, are you paying for everyone elses good time? You are free to live your life as you deem appropriate, if you aren't happy with that life then you need to change something about your life, not mine because you are not supporting anything I do in any way.

They wouldn't need to do this if they were allowed to get married. Toss that around in your small brain.

Yeah.. If they had to get married to do this, this wouldn't happen. Right now they can just say they are partners and they get the benefit. If gay marriage were legal, then they would actually have to get married, which is far more binding, to get this.

  • You all don't get it. These two guys are not romantically involved with each other at all. They are just roomates and as a matter of fact the one who is my co-worker is seeing someone else but they have worked out some kind of deal where they have a better standard of living by living apart. His name is Mark and we are friends. He just doesn't shove his lifestyle down my throat(pardon the pun) every day.

If two men or two women claim to be domestic partners who in their right mind is going to doubt it?? Someone school me on this. Are'nt getting away with fraud? I don't think we are going to see a true life "When Chuck Met Larry" or whaever the movie was called.

This will be my last post on this topic because I bring up valid points and I am a "troll" and a "flamer"(pardon the pun) for doing it. I practice "hate" and "intolerance" because I have lost benefits at work after working there 30 years and I resent it. You all have a good day.

You didn't lose benefits at work because Mark is gay, you lost benefits at work because the economy is garbage right now and the cost of healthcare is sky high. Come cry to me about that after you have to spend 5 weeks in a hospital bed, 3.5 of which is spend in an ICU (which my mother just did) without insurance. You know, because my stepfather's company cut their benefits last year so they kept people EMPLOYED. Can you wrap your brain around that hospital bill? Mark doesn't work for my stepfather so how do you explain them cutting benefits as well?

I answered your post and you have yet to respond to the things I said, that's why you're being called a troll and flamer. You toss all this garbage out yet don't discuss it when given the opportunity.
