I could you find an example of government in probably every aspect of your life and you probably wouldn't have noticed.

    Doesn't make it right.

Doesnt mean it's horrible or having government is necessarily bad. There is always a need for balance and transparency.

This is a proposal. That is the beauty of our government. If we don't like it, change it. Nothing is the be all, end all.

I imagine you probably take for granted a lot of the government regulation in your life.

For example, safety regulations- it would kind of suck to die in an elevator crash or a plane crash wouldn't it?

What about dying from poorly prepared food?

  • That's the problem with our government the transparency you state the government having is being clouded with generation of more departments and less control from elected officials who are controlled by elections from the population .

  • Good gosh almighty. A lot of you people need to wake up. A lot of what I am getting out of some of these responses is "The government is good, the government protects us, we rely on the government keep us safe and not hurt ourselves".

Some of you have kids coming to your school in 3 or 4 months, that will be incredible athletes, and will perform at a high level against some of the greatest athletes in the world, many of whom will be playing in the NFL the following year.

And you think they would by no means be able to work for an uncle or neighbor and help out on the farm, if they haven't turned 18? And kids under 18 would not be able to do on a farm, things they learned to do in 4H at age 11 or 12.

66% of trampoline accidents happen to kids between the ages of 5 and 14. Let's ban those kids from using a trampoline while we are at it. People have been ignorant enough to think that one day the government would take away our freedom and our rights. Those people were too naive to know that the government would never have to take away our rights, we would simply hand them away.

Never said I liked the proposal. Which is all it is.

I just think the "government out of every aspect of our lives" part is not only impossible but imprudent.

This country is dumber than rocks and will fail soon. Seriously. The attack on the American farmer has gone from heinous to warped.

Agree, this is ridiculous. Are they trying to run all agriculture out of the US?

You won't have to worry, they will make your choices for you too.

If the current POS gets reelected, then yeah. I think I will become one of those guys on "Doomsday Preppers" and just start preparing for the end, since it'll be less than 4 years away.

I never said out of everything, but I like their role to be as limited as possible.

And most not in the US, because we are unfriendly to the independent farmer in this country. The government makes it difficult for them to run their business.

I just think its asinine to think every proposal is this black and white; be all,end all; overreach control.

ROFL. We've been subsidizing farmers since the Great Depression. Hell weve payed people not to farm. It's not the government running people out of business. It's business running people out of business. They can't compete. Go watch Food,Inc. to see what I'm talking about.

    No.

Went to public school for elementary and middle and it never happened. A complete myth on the right.

Now when I went to private school for high school and now college, the indoctrination is horrible.

Probably does. Sad thing is he probably also doesn't realize that not only are the two candidates essentially the same, no one really wants either.

No...you dont know your history very well.

The small time farmer cannot produce enough crops to be cost effective, versus the big conglomerates. That is why the small time farmer is mostly extinct.

What legislation are you thinking of when you make statements like this?
