Chip Kelly to the Eagles

Lord almighty I have to ask.

Do you think Tebow fits in this mans system more than any other system? Vick is injury prone you know.

As I said, he won't run that Oregon system in Philly.

You'll get over it. Trojan fans hated Carroll at first but are starting to forgive him. Of course, I can't speak on behalf of all Trojan fans.

Lane Kiffin has made forgiving Carroll much easier. :)

Dear god, not even close. He wants a QB that can run. Not a RB that can throw a ball. A Steve Young type QB would be his wettest of dreams.

Watched'm play plenty. And the QB is an option in a whole lot of their scheme.

You are half correct. Ever seen Mariota get drilled? Almost never because he's generally taking off only under specific instances. And Darron Thomas almost never ran the ball. They ran Masoli and Dixon a lot more. Chip changed his philosophy a bit after their QBs started dropping like flies. The only reason we know Masoli's name is because the four QBs ahead of him were killed off in a span of a month.

    Helfrich. O Coord.

They seriously need someone that can recruit. Their class is going to get raped and it was so-so already

Okay I suppose that is fair.

Vick would fit well but you have to have someone back him up. I don't think that Kelly's system is going to fit both Foles and Vick. They are just WAY to different in styles. To getmyjive, I don't think that he is going to run the same system that he is running at UO either. I mean the guy is an offensive genius and will adapt his system to what he has.

The reason that I say that it won't work is because how different that Vick and Foles are to each other. You have to at least have a backup that is capable of running something similar as your starter. Chip Kelly is going to want to run a spread option type offense even though it won't look as run-n-gun as it looks like it does in college. I mean it will look a lot more like the Patrots run but Kelly will want a qb that can make more impact with his legs and I'm sure that Belichik would as well if he didn't have Brady.

Nobody else has that liberty though. I mean nobody else has someone like Brady. Kelly wants a kid like Kaepernick. I could only imagine that kid in Kelly's offense. He is going to need someone other than just Vick though. I don't think Nick Foles works at all with Kelly's philosophy. Maybe he could pick up a kid like Colin Klein in the fifth round or something as a backup?

Yeah, he had been wavering so no surprise there. Hope we can reel him back in though, dude can ball.

What lie? He told the recruits that visited this weekend that Philly wasn't out of the picture yet. He also never publicly said he was returning so.. I fail to see a lie here.

Scheme/philosophy aside, Chip's core competency is coaching up QBs. Dixon sucked before Chip arrived - turned him into a Heisman candidate. Masoli and Thomas were garbage and he made them into stars. I think he'll work miracles with Vick's decision making and reads. That said he's not the ideal. Agreed, Kaep he'd love to have.

Foles/Vick. Yeah he'll want to bring in someone else. He'll want to replace both.

He changed his mind. He won't catch hell over it for long if he does. I think he personally really thought he would be coaching UO until earlier today I'm sure. We don't know what flipped him, BUT I don't think that he was planning on taking this job when he said he was uncomfortable coaching anywhere but UO less than a week ago. I'm sure some more money was thrown on the table and the pot just got too sweet.

I have more confidence than others in Helfrich personally. I think you will hardly skip a beat under the guy unless the NCAA hurts you with sanctions. I've heard a lot of good things about Helfrich.

I agree with you that he'll want to replace both guys, but he is going to have to keep at least one for his first season.
