I was leaning more towards, Romney disappeared for a week. The Libya stuff was forgotten about. That was DESTROYING the president.

I think the point is some undecided voters saw Obama up there helping out, making nice with Republicans (showing a bipartisan side), looking presidential and like a leader in a crisis while Romney was nowhere to be found. If some voters were on the fence and saw that a few days before the election, I think it could definitely have swung them. Definitely not NJ or NY which were already going to be blue but it could have made a difference in battleground states like Ohio and Florida. Never know.
