Christmas Eve Drink on Tap

  • C'mon fellas!! Apparently some of you on this board don't know that I own a restaurant/bar called HopsScotch in Jersey City. When it comes to beer and whiskeys, I'm the man to ask for the goods!!!

Here ya' go: Scotch-Peat Monster by Compass Box. Best scotch I ever had for big time peat fans. Also, his Hedonism took down some MAJOR awards the past couple years and as far as a blend goes, blows Johnny Blue out of the water.

Whiskey-Tap 357. Maple Rye Whiskey. Tastes and smells like French Toast! Shit is legit and is stronger than Jack Daniels!! (by 1 proof, I know, but girls woof it down and we all know what happens when girls drink whiskey!)

Merry Christmas all and here are some good beers for your Christmas cheer! Santa's Butt (dark porter), Delirium Noel (Belgian dark seasonal), LaChouffe N'Ice Chouffe (Belgian seasonal) , Schneider Aventinus (German Dopplebock Wheat) and Troegs Mad Elf (cherry belgian Quad) Enjoy and come see us soon at Hops Scotch!!!

Wish you all the best and any questions with beers, bourbons, scotches or whiskies, I'll be glad to help!!

Christmas Day drink for me is, HaandBryggeriet Odin's Tipple. And I've got a couple Old Engine Oil Porters in the fridge as well. Dark beer day.

Odin's is SOLID! I like North Coast a little bit better, but my fav brewer from Scandinavia is Mikkeller. He's the dogfish head of Europe.

Ya Odin's kind of hovers between a BSD and RIS it seems. The roastiness and bitterness is dialed back a little from something like Old Rasputin, but the beer is big and dark as hell.

Actually edit that, now that I'm drinking it, it might have just as much bitterness as OR. Saving the other half of the bottle for after dinner.

What's your opinion of Forty Creek's stuff? John Hall is supposed to be one of the better whisky guys in Canada.

I like their barrel select that's finished in sherry casks.... We carry only 125 different whiskies, so I can't have everything, but I try to have some of the best! Cheers!
