That includes every SEC team in conference, minus Ole Miss, and every game vs ONLY BCS conference opponents.

Didn't include Ole Miss because they didn't play any BCS OOC opponents.

I think if you were to go by individual offensive production for each team you would understand what I'm saying.

Wrong again. I don't know about LSU and UF, but Saban and Pete tried to schedule a series. Due to scheduling difficulties at the time, neither team could make it happen.

Ha right yeah right. From what I know,Bama wanted to play a neutral sight game in the south. They didn't want to play a home and home but ok buddy lol.

After bama lost we needed 5 teams to lose and they all did.

Bama was a resounding number two in coaches poll

I have no beef with Bama or LSU at all.I enjoy watching them play.I'm more concerned with the system being blatantly slanted to the SEC.

I understand completely what you are saying. Even if you take out Bama and LSU, SEC still averages six more PPG against BCS conference opponents than against SEC opponents.

    Here is the breakdown:

Bama: 36.5 PPG (SEC); 27 PPG OOC (BCS Opponents)
Arky: 33 PPG (SEC); 35 PPG OOC
UF: 20 PPG (SEC); 15 PPG OOC
UGA: 25 PPG (SEC); 27 PPG OOC
LSU: 34 PPG (SEC); 43 PPG OOC
MSU: 18 PPG (SEC); 23 PPG OOC
USCe: 25 PPG (SEC); 32 PPG OOC
UTk: 16 PPG (SEC); 45 PPG OOC
VU: 21 PPG (SEC); 29 PPG OOC

Only two teams averaged more in conference than out.

Is Michigan the best in the big10? Alabama is in the SEC. It will be decided the first game of the year.

Does it matter who has the best 3-4-5 if First on First is a asswhopping?

You must know more than Nick Saban and Pete Carroll. They was asked during an interview, while both were doing the ESPN commerical a few years back, about playing each other and both said they were trying but scheduling wouldn't allow.

Whatever you have to tell your homeristic mind to make yourself feel better.

I can kind of understand the slant. The SEC has played in 7 BCS Champ games since its inception in 1998 (8 if you count this past year, but that doesn't count for these purposes b/c it was SEC v. SEC).

So, 7 times against opponents from different conferences. The opponents were FSU, OU (2x), OSU (2x), Texas, and Oregon. The average margin of victory was 12 points. 7-0 over a 13 year span with 5 different SEC teams repping the conference with a total score discrepancy of 84 points.

It's reasonable to think that a team from another conference will have a better team sometimes, but when all else is equal and 1 team loses to Iowa State AFTER the other team loses to #1 LSU, it's probably fair to expect a little lean towards the SEC. By the way, that OSU/Mich rematch season? OSU lost 41-17 to clearly undeserving UF.

Not the SEC's fault. Slive tried to establish a playoff format several years ago and all the conferences declined, outside of the ACC. Blame your conference commish, not the SEC.

  • I like WVU's starting spot. Not too high, not too low. Players will be fighting to keep moving up. Clemson is too high, I didny notice VT but I'm sure they are once again too high, USC is #1 IMO.

    USC
    LSU
    Oklahoma
    Alabama

That would be my top 4.

The last 3 champions had new QB's FWIW.

The top 3 are all interchangeable and it really doesn't matter where those 3 are ranked honestly.. You could put any 3 of those #1 and it would be ok.

I mean, you would be hard pressed to find a team with as much talent as we do this year.. Great potential for 5 first rounders, at the least 3 or 4 first rounders.

You would really be nitpicking if you had a problem with Bama, LSU or USC being number 1

    Agree.

Mett will have had 18 months (about 6 months less than McCarron last year before the season started) in this system by the time the season roll around and the schedule sets up nicely early in the season for him to get some of the bugs out.

All 3 teams (Bama/LSU/USC) seem to have 1 glaring question mark, but other than that, they are all very solid. I am not sold that adding Redd to USC makes a huge difference other than that now being a position that can afford an injury. That was one of 2 areas they werer thin and now there is quality depth there overnight. Huge pickup for Kiffin and it is a perfect location for Redd as he will not have too much pressure on his shoulders either.

I'm interested in USC this year. I'd have them number one preseason. It'll be very interesting to see if Kiffin can coach them up, or if he's just a recruiter.

He still only had 6 months more time in system before last year than Mett will have had at LSU.

Yes, he did play in 2010, but Mett also played in 2011. Neither was truly a contributor in those years and basically only had some mop up duty. McCarron did have a little more playing time, but not a lot more.

Mett saw action in 6 games compared to McCarron's 8 games in the years before both became starters.

I know you want to play the whole I'm ok with not being number one so the pressure is off game but this shit is garbage. The pressure is still there because the people know we should be number two at the very least. This is a joke.

What the hell basis do you have to stand on in thinking that USC should be above Bama or LSU? This isn't the mid-2000s anymore. USC is MUCH thinner than either of those teams, and frankly, I don't think USC can beat either if all teams are healthy.
