They can either win 10 games every year, graduate players, produce multiple NFL players, be respected, or turn into a whole pile of nothing which is what they were before.

And acting like they will just keep rolling off 10 wins just cause of Beamer is beyond dumb

Bowden rolled off 14 straight, then his age took that down to his last 8 years having only one 10 win season

IMO VT would escalate itself to a program that will consistently compete against FSU every year to get to the BCS game for the ACC and have the "possibility" to play for a natty every once in a while (not every year; for the people who want to analyze that comment to death), if they brought in a new energetic blood into their system. Beamer isn't going to be the one who does it. VT is accustomed to winning so thinking they are going to go back to NC state status is stupid. They will continue winning (just purely based on the lack of recruiting they do now and the conference they are in). They should easily be able to recruit better. VT has a strong alumni in DC/Baltimore/V Beach/Charlotte/East Tenn and should be able to recruit these areas much better.

To say that you just can't keep players in your state is dumb (goes for Georgia and Virginia). Recruiting is recruiting and you may have players who just want to get our but if you have killer recruiters on your staff you should be able to get your share of top talent in your state and area. If VT got new blood who could really recruit (cause they don't have any good recruiters) they would lock down there radius area (which isn't a huge talent pool) and then get their fare share of DC, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Virginia Beach kids. This would go along way to increasing their talent. Also new blood would create an instant spark in the current players attitude and they would play with some ferocity.

Also, I worked in Blacksburg for 3 months its actually a pretty cool town, just like any other college town (Auburn, Athens, & Clemson). So to say that no body would want to go there is outrageous. They need recruiters that can sell is there only problem.

Beamer is outdated and doesn't know that todays college football isn't played on the field its played in the homes of high school students.

Not sure where you get 75% from

UGA still lands a healthy amount of talent from GA, its hard to get everybody and when you miss on one #1 player here and then a top RB there people will assume the sky is falling

Im not sure what the problem at UGA is, but judging from the players I see on their team each year it sure as hell isn't talent

As for VT I sorta agree, I think they need new blood and a brand new offensive staff..... still don't think they will ever be a serious national title contender

Most people don't realize it but VT doesn't recruit well in the trenches, they do okay on the defensive side but always lack size and almost always have zero depth, this year they are bragging about how sweet the depth at DT is and they only rotate 4 guys maybe..... and I bet most of the nation couldn't name one of them

The OL they have this year is gonna be awful, Saban would struggle to win 10 games with it and the OL is always their downfall against the elite..... its a huge reason why they only have 2 wins against the top 10 all time
