Cole recaps West Coast trip

Mason Cole has visited a handful of colleges, but two of those stops stand out to the 2014 four-star offensive tackle from Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake.

  • One SEC coaching staff thinks this kid is in par with Braden Smith and Bentley Spain as far as top offensive tackles for 2014 are concerned.

At Orlando Nike, he was just behind Laremy Tunsil at tackle for best overall. Very good technique to be so young, athletic, flexible, 6-5, 266 legit- big timer who will be much higher in our next 2014 Top247 release.

  • Asked who was recruiting him hardest, he replied, "probably Clemson and USC, as of right now. They've showed me the most love when I was there. But I still have three more schools to go."

I'm glad USC got an early start on recruiting Cole. We have two OT's committed from the class of 2014. Would love for him to be the third. smile_msu

    Thanks Keith!

Word on the street is that Toa is more of an interior lineman. I guess it will depend on how he grows in the next two years but definitely good on the coaches to keep after top talent!
